Assuming we don't blow this, I'm pleasantly surprised with a sereis win here. We could just as easily lose one to the Giants though, and I don't see us winning at all in LA.
How can you blame him for that? That would've happened to anybody else. Check his last name, that's how. So every player in baseball has Villar for a last name? I'm understand this "complaining just to complain" statement now.
The fact that MLB only fined and not suspended Kinsler shows that even they know the umpiring has been terrible this year. Calling balls and strikes has proven to be quantum physics for these guys.
No criticizing the umps tonight, guys. They're wearing white wristbands. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/umpires-wearing-white-wristbands-protest-escalating-verbal-attacks-202209921.html
I agree with this completely. Maybe we steal a third. A sweep at the hands of the Dodgers is a mortal lock. Hopefully we get two in SF. By the end of this road trip we'll be out of the playoff picture for good. But we also have to remember this is year two of the rebuilding process. If someone would've told me on Opening Day we'd still be in the playoff race in late August I would've laughed in their face.
We were not screwed out of a win. It was well within the rules and something done most of the time in those situations. That being said I hate the rule where they can ask when they don't have a challenge. It's a terrible rule. I'd like to have some of what the competition committee was having when they came up with that brainchild.
Good on the umps for not reviewing that at Hurdl's request. Baseball's replay system is a joke. We were screwed out of a win a year or two ago because Brian Price talked the umpires into reviewing something when he didn't have a challenge left.
