  1. If you're heading up to Sonoma county, there's a little restaurant in Healdsburg called Scopa that is pretty amazing. The lupini beans are a real treat. Also, if you're into beer at all, there are a few great beer bars in and around Haight...Toronado and City Beer Store come to mind. Maybe not ideal honeymoon destinations, but worth a visit if the mood should so strike you. Magnolia Pub is also a nice place...more of an upscale gastro-pub with California cuisine as well as housemade beer. And definitely get your hands on some Russian River brews...fantastic stuff, especially if you're into the hops (Pliny the Elder is a must). Annnd if you're feeling like busting out some big $$$ on a fantastic dinner, I'd highly HIGHLY recommend checking out Chez Panisse in Berkeley. Creative and delicious...still one of the top dining experiences of my life.
  2. Boy, Suppan is earning that contract.
  3. It's more about him swearing off the Brewers and saying he was done watching. What's wrong with a little hyperbole now and then? We all use it to get our points across. I don't think Bruce is literally saying he's done watching the team. It's just a way of expressing his frustration.
  4. Because it's completely bush league for fans to boo players who helped get their team to their first playoffs in 26 years. Plus, it would be pretty hypocritical after the lovefest on Sunday. Well to any "booers" defense, Corey Hart and Bill Hall did absolutely nothing to help this team get to the playoffs in the second half. So there's that.
  5. 1 for 18 today. Jeez. You'd think with gritty battlers like Kendall and Counsell (playoff tested and proven!) they'd be racking up the singles.
  6. Well I'll say it has been a disappointing 6 innings today. Absolutely depressing.
  7. 1 hit through 5 and a third? Sounds about right I guess.
  8. Yesterday a AAA lineup scored 7 runs on us, today a motley collection of relievers (most with ERA's over 6) have one hit the Brewers for 6 innings. Words can't even describe how amazingly pathetic that is. What he said.

  10. Man, 15 straight retired by Guzman, Gaudin, Cotts, and Hart?

  12. Well we still have that one hit to hang our hats on!

  14. Too much to hope for a baserunner? Yes.

  16. I dunno, 60 pitches through 4 isn't horrible, he might squeeze out 7. I'd be more than ok with that.

  18. On a positive note, the Brewers do have a hit before the 6th inning today.

  20. And if there are any fans of shoegaze/spacerock/drone rock, beg, steal or borrow a copy of the self-titled album by the English band The Early Years. Cool, man, thanks for the tip. Big, big fan of the space rock. Anyway, on a similar note, check out A Place to Bury Strangers s/t if you get the chance. I'm absolutely hooked on that album. And the Deerhunter EP Fluorescent Grey is also quite good.
