  1. Isn't that what the rehab assignment is for?
  2. Why would either of Megill and Devin be unavailable tonight? Megill was just activated and Devin didn't close Sunday and had off day yesterday.
  3. Joe Ross DFA will be coming soon for Paredes I'd imagine, and they'll still have to make room for Zastryzny. I also hope Yoho and Miz see time in the majors at some point but some touch decisions will have to be made with the bullpen within the next few weeks. Williams, Megill, Koenig, Hudson, Payamps, Mears are locks to remain in the pen, imo. Paredes and Zastryzny for Wilson and Ross leaves the Brewers without a long relief arm. When rosters expand that creates an extra spot for one of Yoho or Miz. But pitcher limit is still 14. Seems like Zastryzny could be the odd-man out in favor of keeping Wilson around to eat innings despite how effective Zastryzny was in his limited major league sample. Thoughts on the upcoming/current bullpen logjam?
  4. Someone in the clubhouse needs to tear into these guys and explain to them that little league defense won't cut it. Is Arcia still a rookie? When is he ever going to do anything worth a damn? If he is gonna pathetically flail at everything at the plate, he sure as hell better make up for it with his glove, but he doesn't. This is one of the most pathetic starts to a season I have ever seen. Could easily be 1-8. Unreal.
  5. No, you need to re-evaluate your methods of player evaluation. Am I doing it right? Archer's future doesn't look bright. He's showing lots of signs of age-related regression. Trading multiple good prospects for him would be a terrible idea. It's probably the worst option available. No, you're not doing it right. Point me to the age-related regression, please. Archer set a career high in K/9, posted the second-lowest BB/9 of his career, slightly improved on his xFIP, set a career high in K-BB%, all while batters posted a .325 BABIP vs him, the highest mark against Archer in his career, which is to blame for his career-worst 4.07 ERA. Which is where I'm guessing you made the "age-related regression" assumption.
  6. If you don't think Archer is significantly better than Cobb, you need to re-evaluate your methods of player evaluation. Archer is an ace. You can not acquire starting pitchers who strike out 10+/9 very easily. Stearns should pull the trigger on Archer if it includes trading Santana because if we signed Lorenzo Cain, therefore pushing Santana out a starting outfield spot, the Cain signing makes literally no sense. Brewers have such a unique opportunity to improve their team, and they better do it. A perfect offseason to do it in as well.
  7. New HH19 Tweet: https://twitter.com/HighHeat9Teen/status/963564356872130560 Edit: And a follow-up tweet: https://twitter.com/HighHeat9Teen/status/963564606143819777
  8. New tweet from HH19's verified Twitter account: https://twitter.com/HighHeat9Teen/status/963514097999507456
  9. Potential deal? MIL receives: RHP Walker Buehler C Yasmani Grandal OF Matt Kemp LA receives: OF Ryan Braun C Manny Pina
  10. Take this with a grain of salt, but here's a tweet from an LA-based reporter who writes for Rebel Media. I don't see the point of this deal, just thought it might be worth mentioning in here.
  11. Can we stop posting the fake HH19 tweets in the forum?
  12. Their top 2 prospects. 2 top 100s... Smith a mid 60s contact plus 1b, Duplanteir a barely top 100 pitcher. Smit, duplanteir and corbin for Santana would be a smart, a little boost now but value in prospects later deal. Like anderson diaz for segura. If you think we can acquire Pavin Smith, Jon Duplantier, and Patrick Corbin for just Domingo Santana, I'm sorry to say, but you're sorely mistaken. Using the Anderson/Diaz for Segura trade doesn't serve much use because they were not comparable prospects to what Smith and Duplantier are currently. The trade panned out for Milwaukee, but it's not as if we knew this would be an impactful trade in the future at the time it happened. Smith and Duplantier are the DBacks' #1 and #2 prospects. Diaz and Anderson were definitely not on that level at any point.
  13. Walker also has a 169 IP season under his belt. 2015 with the Mariners. Walker would also provide more than Suter (and likely Woodruff) would be able to give us this season. Walker also wouldn't cost as much as Archer, Stroman, Fulmer, etc. if Stearns isn't willing to part with the farm just yet.
  14. New tweet from Tom Haudricourt: I am aware that this could be posturing, but if Stearns was really on the cusp of something, I doubt he'd throw in the, "I anticipate" line. What is the point of that?
  15. Hey, first post. My gut tells me that if Stearns and Co. offered Darvish somewhere in the range of 5 years $115 million and he declined it without encouraging future discussion that he probably doesn't want to sign with us. It's quite the fallback offer if the Rangers and Dodgers are not able to work anything out, but I still think the Dodgers clear Kemp's contract and would put themselves in a position to land Darvish for the same price the Brewers offered, or potentially cheaper.
