    So am I seeing this right - Cubs lose this - the best they can do is make Miami play Monday, and then they are tied with the Reds as well? So this nearly knocks them out?

    This is shaking out perfectly. The Cubs are floundering. We probably can grab a win or two even with just getting work in. The Marlins are in the drivers seat. If they falter, they have to go make up an inning Monday then come here… couldn’t ask for a better scenario from our perspective.

    I sure would have loved some Tyler Black called up to take some reps at 3b. Wonder how JD will do with us - his batted ball metrics were really good this year. Mona station(lol spell check made me giggle so I’m gonna leave it) has begun to turn into a pumpkin.

    Is there a stat for ‘bad outs’ with runners on 2nd and 3rd and 0 or 1 outs? There’s no way any other team does that situation worse.
