    Winker right where he should be - killing rallies in the cleanup spot. Geesh.

    Black gets on base a lot more, that is 100% true. His K rate is also more "normal" as opposed to "high". Black's bat and OB skills would play in the DH spot right now, dare I say, better than any other option we have, sans Contrares when he's not behind the dish.

    Agreed, based on STATS alone. Huira at his worst, is better than Winker is this year.... yikes.

    Winker at 4 has to be some sort of joke at this point. Like it's such a bad idea that it reverts back to the very top of the scale as a perfect idea. Yea, that's it! Bring Black up, or give Keston his last shot, or.... I don't even know at this point. Yet here we are in first by 2 games. Logic defies me this year.

    All of this. And hopefully that all if this is correct. I'd love some Tyler Black in this lineup, it would get better for sure with him in it - even during an adjustment process, if he had one.

    Any of the failings of the Brewers team fall squarely on the lack of spending ability, or the trotting out mostly an AAAA team over the years. CC has done an amazing job managing ‘up’ to get the best out of some of these guys. Often the buttons he pushes work out fantastically. Just a great feel for the game. Yea we will give him crap for some things but overall - he’s about as good a manger as you can get. ESPECIALLY considering the constraints we have in our market!

    Can we talk about this. How in the world was he back in the next game yesterday…. And hit a walk off today was it? He absolutely looked like he was going to be out for a long time… wow. If he was a Brewer and walked off like that you know he’d be done for the year!

    The Reds and Brewers match up really well and I think we will see games like today back and forth in all their matchups. Would be fun to play them in the playoffs - would be an epic series!

    That 2011 team on September 1st was 9 games over .500 as well, so .. yea not all stats are created the same, it was still a "good" team. This year's Cardinals team, is not good, by any stretch of the imagination - and only reason they have a higher playoff probability is the higher amount of games left and their original projections. I, for one am glad they are out of the way for once barring a miracle... time to talk about and worry about the upstart Reds.... that is a team we should be worried most about - youth - as unpredictable as it can be - can just not know any better on how they are supposed to fade.. lol.

    This could be an exciting move. I'll also temper expectations. But, if he has got some of the control demons under control - see what I did there - lol - he could be a huge pen piece! Color me excited.
