  1. I feel bad for this kid, seems like a really good dude. I hope he can come back next year strong and be are number #1 road starter. Furthermore I hope this doesn't endanger his career as he didn't look good at all this year.
  2. Id say getting Kyle Hendricks and Carl Edwards for Ryan Dempster, Anthony Rizzo for Andrew Cashner, and Jake Arrieta and Pedro Strop for Scott Feldman were ok trades...... Oh and Addison Russell for Jeff Samardzija. You had me until Russell for Samardzija. Not sure which of those two has been worse overall. Both have been below average. I really thought samardzija was gonna be a stud for years..what happened to that guy? He hasn't been the same since he went to the White Sox.
  3. Those stats sum up exactly who Chris Archer is... average and overrated. Exactly. I'm so glad we did not unload for him and I thought this way before he was traded. He seemed to decline from what considered ace material after the first half of last year.
  4. We shoulda got Ramos, then maybe we wouldn't have this problem. I don't know much about Bethancourt. I seen someone say Bandy was raking. Is this true? I know it's CS. Ugh, Bandy is just Sogard at catcher, I'll gladly be wrong. Looking into Betancourt he isn't better then bandy unless he has a cannon for a arm. Calls great games or frames well. I rather go with a hot bat in Bandy. That is if the Bandy was raking like the person said he was.. Preferred option woulda been Ramos...now cervelli, but that ain't gonna happen. We are just gonna have to live with having annoyingly bad catcher. But at least Kratz has put together some decent performances as of late.
  5. The cutter has given alot of pitchers new life or addition to their repertoire. I remember hearing years ago and since about many pitchers adding the cutter and adding years to their career. I like DJ but the genie has been out for sometime Old news What is more interesting is the attack on hitters up in the zone with the FB from Our hardest thrower to softest. When you find that article for me, holla
  6. Well they've been one of the most consistent winning teams in the league for a long time. And while they have more money than us, they're not reliant on big spending like the other consistent winning teams of Bos, NYY, LAD, SF and the recent rebuilds of CHC/Hou who have massive financial flexibility so can do things differently. Can't believe I forgot on the Royals, do you think we are closer to trying to be the cards or royals? As far as what is actually feasible. We are the Royals ... Soria, Moose, Cain, even Pina ... lol Haha, good on you. Oh man, I forgot we got half their team. Ha
  7. I'm 100% convinced of this. It's really, really sad. Mb those people are masochistic... To me a brewers world series win would be bigger then a super bowl win. I think this would be for alot of people too actually. I don't even know what I would do, I definitely would cry, not ashamed to admit I would cry if we won the world series, even though there is no crying in baseball. They would have to invent a new word for happy Id also be ecstatic for Uecker. This man deserve to see one before he moves on. I'd even be happy for rock. Id be ecstatic for our owner too. Mark A. Is just a all around class act. He's a kid when it comes to baseball, which I think is one of the reasons we all like him.
  8. I'm 100% convinced of this. It's really, really sad. I guarantee someone would point out it took longer than it should have. Then again, when they win the WS I'll be half in the bag running naked down Wisc Ave with the ball and glove logo painted on my chest, so I won't be reading those comments. Cool
  9. Isn't it amazing we are trying to be like are hated rivals? Haha. Glad to see Bud Norris blow a game the other day. Well they've been one of the most consistent winning teams in the league for a long time. 10. I was mostly on board with the other rental moves (although losing Medeiros hurt), and I thought we did so well in some areas to improve our team, but I definitely feel like we missed a good opportunity on this one. Considering that the Rays received only cash from the Phils for Ramos I think a prospect along the lines of another potential Rule 5 casualty, such as Bickford, probably would have been enough to deal with us over the cash for the Rays and I think that would have been a worthwhile investment. Our lineup would have been ALOTA better with the addition of Ramos, now add in the fact we coulda had him for little to nothing, that's the part that hurts the most.

  12. Agreed. I didn't even really disagree with your main point even though i said "is thus real" Jopal. But the Lind thing was a mistake.
  13. Are we trying to be Houston, St Louis, Giants,...which sounds like the time we are emulating most? Or want to be.. I ask questions when I don't know the answer or just like hearing some of your guys opinions, some of you are really smart and no your stuff, just wish I could avoid those that think they are and do.
  14. Any player acquired for nothing is being acquired from the so called trash can, otherwise there would be an acquisition cost greater than zero. I thought we already had too many players like this & it reeked of desperation? That's what you got put of this topic? Ok, compared to the catchers we have now would you consider Ramos to be of the trash heap variety? I certainly dont.. The players we usually acquire from the trash heap that are bad are not only bad they are trash. Sogard, Miller, Z.. Ramos is anything but those... so.. Stearns is fine he doesn't need people on message boards to have his back. People keep taking me saying "I am not as high in Stearns as some" as me hating the guy. With as many people that gush all over Stearns, saying I'm not as high on him as some doesn't sound that bad. Heck maybe I like the guy, but just don't have a crush on him... It is ok to be critical of someone and not hate them....lol. This needs to be explained?
  15. Oh ya, thanks for the Kato joke bud. You're welcome! Let's keep that whole context of my first response together. I understand you wanting to steer clear and make a joke out of it. It's too hard to own it, when you are wrong nowadays.
  16. Thank you. I thought I was the only one who made faces when reading through that all. For all the "mistakes" - remember at the time who those players were, what their stats told us at the time... and what we all thought of them at the time. Hindsight is 20/20. He should be patted on the back for Chacin, Aguilar, Cain and Yelich moves, Shaw, Thames signing (even tho he K's a lot he's been exciting at a bargain price), things like that. Overall with the deck handed to him, he is doing well. Maybe not amazing. But sure not bad at all. If we want to talk about CC's game or pen management - that may be another thing (I get annoyed with some things, but he does an ok job of mixing things up... I will not for the life of me understand what he is doing with Hader or when he actually uses him, but I digress...). But Stearns has done a bang up job overall. Our job as crazy fans is tough however, especially as BREWERS fans... we have been through A LOT of bad things, and collapses. Dean Taylor.... Gary Sheffield.... guys like Chuckie Carr.... Ben McDonald and Jeffrey Hammonds signings.... That makes is more negative by nature. Can you blame us? No friend, Nobody can blames us. We have been through heck
  17. I said It seems like Stearns has done it more. Not at all. Don't forget about Chacin. Based on the contract and position maybe his best off-season signing. Well ok its right up there.
  18. I would not argue that those havent vastly outweighed the bad signings. But we did miss the playoffs by 1 game. We all knew sogard didn't have it waaaaay before he eventually stopped playing.
  19. I'm confused how that would tempt to to use a naughty word..is it that serious to you?
  20. [sarcasm][/sarcasm] Ok, so this might shock you. I prefer Stearns over Melvin. I never said I didn't like the guy, just that I wasn't has high in him. Stearns will earn fans respect at different rates. Some were happy with him right away, others may have that respect next year.
  21. Ok, so this might shock you. U prefer Stearns over Melvin.
  22. Yes!!!!!! Finally, I get that condescending know it all. Trolling? Lol, how do you know my mind is made up? If it is why do I keep asking questions..hmmmmmm. Does that make any sense? Are you reverse trolling? Also, When did I say Stearns was horrible? Oh, i didnt. I said i wasnt as high on him as others are. You shouldnt put words in peoples mouths or pretend you can read minds. My questions didn't seem to bother Sveum(Mod), the guy who initially i had the back and forth with, yet it triggered you? Oh ya, thanks for the Kato joke bud. Maybe ya seen my opening sentence to this topic and you got a problem with that, seems like alot of angst coming outta nowhere, wouldn't shock me if you got those issues
  23. Some of our best players have come from the so called trash can. What it says about our team is that we don't have the necessary payroll to consistently play in the deep end of the Free Agency pool. What it says about Stearns is that so far he has shown an ability to extract value from players who other organizations believed would provide none. That is an important & much needed ability for a GM, especially soin a market as small as Milwaukee. We have gotten value...but Have any of the scrubs we picked up cost us any games this year? Thay would negate some of that value. I just don't remember us doing this in the past as much. It reeks of desperation.
  24. I love our owner. I am not as high on Stearns as most are..someone said it the other day, he is always digging in the trash can for players. What does that say about our team if you need to do that. Stearns has made nice moves, but they need to amount to WINS, success, not just a good personal season. I don't like are manager, he reminds me so much of Jason Kidd for any fellow bucks fans, as far as how lackadaisical he is sometimes. Seems like he isn't in the game. Seems like we got these umps every game screwing us on call and Craig just stands there. Not to mention his BP management. Is there really not better options at manager then CC? I mean seriously. It's almost laughable to think there isn't. Kinda get sick and tired of hearing how great Counsel is from people, he hasn't done anything. Why does it seem like he is gonna have a extra long leash just because he is a Wisconsin guy. If McCarthy don't get to the SB, fired. Counsel doesn't get past a 1 game playoff by '19, fired.
