I'm outside the US (UK) and watching on Mlb.tv, for whatever it's worth.

Except MLB is, collectively, the owners and this is an ownership issue. The idea that they need to punish players in order to police themselves is an odd one, at least to me.

Maybe ticket sales for this Miz-less series were looking light so they juiced social media to drum up some free promo?

The biggest issue for the Brewers the last few seasons has been the discrepancy in the quality of their pitching (high) and hitting (low). This trade successfully addresses this issue by dramatically lowering the quality of their pitching without increasing the quality of their hitting.

Robert Murray on Brewers and CC

I have nothing to back this up, but for me part of all this is that Counsell likely has a pretty good understanding of what the team books actually look like. I think he knows, certainly far better than any of us, what Mark A can afford to pay and is therefore unlikely to buy the cries of (relative) poverty. -
He had nothing to do with losing the series but he might have been the reason why they didn't win.

I'm not saying this is what you're doing, but I've never really understood the vilification of Hader for wanting to be 9th inning only. Didn't that come about after the Brewers beat him in arbitration by arguing he didn't have enough saves to deserve a higher salary? Always seemed to me like he was just playing the game by the rules the arb process created.

Following the Twitter clues, it seems Alex Wilson's wife is about to give birth so he'll be on whatever leave that is and Petricka will rejoin shortly.

I’m live in Chicago and entered the Cubs lottery (& won!). It’s kind of funny, they were only selling tickets for the WC and 2 DS games, so maybe they’re not planning on winning the division.
