  1. I'm just trying to find a single reason why the Pelicans would POSSIBLY be on board with this? What the heck do they gain by making this deal? They save a little money this year, right? Is that all? I'd have to think they could have gotten more. They got 4 future 2nd round picks, including 2 of Washington's that could be early. With Mirotic a FA after the season, and Pelicans rebuilding... that seems to be an ok get for someone they'd probably let walk anyway
  2. Now seeing 4 2nd rounders are also included, some from Detroit and some from Milwaukee -- sounds like the early 2020 2nd from Washington is involved. Havent seen if any other Milwaukee picks are part of the 4.
  3. Nikola Mirotic is probably the best thing the Bucks could have asked for (realistically). A big that can rebound, shoot the 3, and play some decent defense is pretty valuable especially the way the Bucks run their offense. An shooting upgrade over Snell would be nice, but I'm happy to see this move.
  4. I didn't realize Crosby's cap hit was that high. He's definitely not worth that, and at 34 years old he might not be able to match that anywhere else. Might be worth taking a flyer on a rookie like the kid out of LSU if you could get him in the 6/7th.
  5. What if the Saints/Rams PI fail happened at the end of the 1st quarter? Would this even be a discussion? Probably for Saints fans, but maybe not as much for national audiences. There were many questionable calls yesterday, as in many games throughout the year. The Hogan catch that was upheld despite the limited possession and hitting the ground? Chiefs getting a roughing the passer for their defender hitting the QBs shoulder? How about Goff running towards the GL and getting his face masked grabbed which potentially cost the Rams 4 points? Eric Berry's coverage on Gronk running down the sideline was aggressive, and likely a PI in many people's eyes? Robey-Coleman had 2-3 other PIs that could have been thrown against him. How many offensive holdings were missed if we break down each play? My point is that I believe that in most cases, this all comes out in the wash. I'm personally not a Saints fan, haven't watched many of their games... but I would be pretty sure there were a few favorable calls throughout the year that went there way to allow them home field advantage as well. Now there's talk about reviewing PI plays, which seems like we're taking a bad situations and making it worse. The way PI is defined, I think you could likely chuck the ball deep and have a 50% chance of getting or reviewing a PI call. Offenses already have a huge advantage, allowing reviews of PI would be for DBs like allowing reviews of holding calls for the OL. Just a slippery slope I don't think they should go down. Let them play, and accept that judgment calls and human error are part of the game.
  6. Is this supposed to be in blue? Ravens were 4-5 with Flacco and 6-1 with Jackson. Jackson obviously didn't have a great game Sunday, but the Ravens wouldn't be a playoff team without him.
  7. Makes me wonder if there might be a "wink nod" deal already in place between McDaniels and the Packers. I know many higher ups see McDanials to the Packers as pretty much a foregone conclusion. NFL policies/procedures don't allow assistants who are still in the playoffs, to have more than 1 interview until they are eliminated or Super Bowl week. I think McDaniels is not shunning Cincinnati entirely, just picking the Packers as the one interview he wants RIGHT NOW until he is eligible to have more. I don't know if that's an old rule that's recently changed. But, Dan Campbell has interviews with the Packers and Cards on Saturday and according to this article Brian Flores has 4 https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcboston.com/news/local/NFL_Rumors__Brian_Flores_to_interview_with_these_four_teams_this_weekend-503790112.html%3famp=y
  8. There is definitely a lot of data to show the Packers offense needs some work. Towards the end of the year, there was a lot of talk about Rodgers consistently changing calls at the line and that led to a lot of issues between MM and AR. I don't think there's a way to ever know, but if it was Rodgers that was going rogue and changing good calls to hit the home run ball then he needs to be fixed no matter how good of an offense mind they find to run the offense.
  9. Makes me wonder if there might be a "wink nod" deal already in place between McDaniels and the Packers. I know many higher ups see McDanials to the Packers as pretty much a foregone conclusion. I think McDaniels is the favorite. But, it would seem pretty unlikely that anyone would have any type of "wink nod" agreement before even interviewing the guy. Especially considering some of the red flags with McDaniels. He probably wants to ask just as many questions of the Packers brass as they do him. The Bengals are notorious for being a poorly run organization and cheap. McDaniels is believed to be making in the range of $3M/yr. From what I can see, Marvin Lewis made $4.5 and that's after 16 years in the organization. Between pay, poor ownership, and a meh team -- I can see why he and other top candidates would say no thanks.
