  1. Not interested in any trade with Denver that does not include cornerback Patrick Surtain Jr.
  2. Solid proposal from the Mets. Alvarez and Baty are 2 high end prospects that would be core players for many years.
  3. Great call Sveum! Actually like him a tad more than Reynolds because of his versatility. What would it take to acquire him? More, less or the same than Reynolds? Both teams are years away from competing at a high level so they would both be looking for young, controllable, high end talent. They also need immediate help to fill out roster. Would either team accept this offer?: Brewers get: Reynolds or Marte Pirates or DBacks get: SP Houser/Lauer OF Mitchell SS Turang
  4. Although Baseball trade values is a decent resource for player values, it is quite flawed in some evaluations. As an example Brice Turang has an assigned value of 26.6 while Christian Yelich is at -20.4. In reference to Mancini, he would be an excellent pickup. Proven hitter with decent defensive skills. Can play multiple positions. Affordable for 1.5 years and if he works out maybe an extension candidate. Would believe Orioles would want young talent back. Would like to see Hiura involved as I see him as an American League player at DH. Brewers may want more included with Mancini but if it’s straight up for him I would offer: One of: Aaron Ashby/Ethan Small One of: Tristen Lutz/Corey Ray One of: Justin Jarvis/Brendan Murphy
  5. It’s interesting with Robert Tonyan. Placing a 2nd round tender on him will allow the Packers to keep him at an affordable $3.4 mil. But if another team values him with a massive contract then let him go, save the money and collect their 2nd rounder. I’m not as high as others are on him as as see him as a system player with an MVP QB throwing to him. The Packers have or will interview 2 tight ends in the upcoming draft that are projected to go in the 2-4 round range so they may be preparing for the future.
  6. Alex Binelas off to a 2 and 26 start. Most mock drafts I’ve seen have him going 8-13 and we pick 15. Maybe he will drop to us?
  7. I would be all over a deal with Bradley if it’s structured similar to Wong’s deal but I think he’s holding out for years/$$. Would give us great depth, experience and defense at all 3 outfield positions plus better matchups with him being a lefty batter.
  8. From what I see, the value of this draft is definitely in the 2nd round. I have 21-22 players with 1st round grades and after that, about 40 players around the same grade. I don’t see the Packers moving up. So, unless there is a player they are enamored with at #29, I see a trade down to 40 range and pickup a 2021 3rd or 2022 2nd. With that, A sign and trade for Aaron Jones could pick us up another 2nd and If we tender Tonyan for a 2nd could pick us up another 2nd. These would be the players I would target based on our needs and talent: CB Asante Samuel Jr Florida State CB Greg Newsome Northwestern DT Alim McNeil North Carolina State DT Marvin Wilson Florida State OT Liam Eichenberg Norte Dame OT Dillon Radunz North Dakota State WR Rondale Moore Purdue WR Kadarius Toney Florida Love playing GM. Fun to speculate!
  9. AJ Preller is in desperation mode and is willing to overpay for the games most elite reliever Josh Hader. He calls The Brewers and gives him a choice of two options. Which one would you recommend to them? Option 1: LSP MacKenzie Gore OR Option 2: LSP Adrian Morejon UT Jake Cronenworth
  10. I’m of the camp that you don’t trade elite talent unless absolutely necessary regardless of position. There’s no pressing need to trade Hader especially if you are trying to contend. I’d keep keep him unless another team comes in and blows us over with an offer that significantly will make our team better in the short and long term.
  11. Love the perspectives and all the different points of view! Been learning from this site for years and finally made the decision to start posting. Sometimes I’m overwhelmed by all the knowledge that so many possess but hopefully I can bring some fresh insights!
  12. Sorry, my first post and it didn’t go through. Great thought provoking question! I would tend to lean to Pinà for money savings and leadership/clubhouse presence. Each one would give equal production IMO although a lefty catcher would be nice.
