I dont get why people are upset with this trade. Dodgers gave up two top 50 guys plus others. Max had a no trade clause so he was only going to one of the west coast teams and still knowing that the Nats were able to get them to over bid for 2 months of Max. Yes they got Turner for 1 year and 2 months but if they would have held him to the off season no way they get that type of return for a SS in the last year of his contract making 20m. Figure half the league cant afford him or has a SS and others aren't going to trade for 1 year of a guy they cant resign. Lindor didn't get 2 top 50 prospects and he was younger and just as good. No one on this board would trade Mitchel in the off season for 1 year of Turner and The dodgers gave up two guys better then mitchel for 1 year and 2 months of him. Any team in our league can draft and develop players. The Dodgers just do it so much better then other teams that has nothing to do with them being a big market. The Rays are small and always have a great farm system too. Any team could have gotten Muncy or Turner when they were cut from the As or Pirates. The dodgers just did a better job seeing talent and making something of it.

I dont think the brewers could beat that offer even if they wanted to. Two top 50 guys I think both very close to MLB ready.

That is some pretty good prospects. Do you think SD can counter that?

I just cant get behind the HR, Strike out or Walk guys. I do like that Gallo can play D but i would rather go after a bat that puts the ball in play more then 50% of the time.

Everyone knows that winning the World Series is really hard. Its really hard for the Yankees and Dodgers to do. You cant go in every time you are in the playoff hunt everyone he I think agrees on that. I do think that this year with 3 controllable Aces it is the time to reach much more then normal. Most likely if we make no moves we still win the division this year and are probably 3rd favorite to win the NL. I think it is a great year to make a bigger splash since most likely if we dont win the Series this year we still have a really good chance of being the best team in the Division next year with our pitchers back. That way we still keep that 10% chance next year but this year maybe its 25%. We have great pitching for the next couple years and maybe our farm is weaker but when our pitchers price out in FA we flip them to rebuild the farm right away.

Question for everyone out there. Is it worth giving up your top prospect to win a World Series? Lets say in 2018 we traded Burnes for Machado but won it all would people still be upset. Like if Giannis gets hurt and we miss the playoffs the next 3 years in hoops and a top guy that turns out to be an alstar is drafted with our picks would people be upset that we went all in and won? Nothing is for sure but if we traded away our top guys for Max and story type players and they put us over the top I wouldnt be upset at all seeing a Alstar on another team for the next 8 years that could have been on ours if we were just fine making the playoffs every other year. How Happy i was seeing CC carry us to the playoffs was worth way more to me then seeing Brantley be a really good player for the Indians.

Isnt he making a lot of money as well. I cant see us adding over 4m in salary for a 6th outfielder.

Everyone keeps saying it doesnt matter but can anyone give an example of when it didnt matter in the last 20 years. This isnt a video game trading in the division does matter there is a lot of money involved. Any big trades that people can think of between the Cubs and Brewers or Brewers and Cards or Cubs in Cards. If it didnt matter you would think it would happen then. Just because it doesnt matter to you doesnt mean it doesnt matter. I would have been pissed if we traded Greinke to the Cubs or Cards to help them win the World Series

Packers Traded Favre to the Jets instead of the best offer to keep him away from MINN. No way Cubs trade one of their best guys to help us win.

I dont have an issue with how the team is built this year. Sterns went out and got wong and bradley to sure up the D. The starting pitching and bullpen should be great and we should have a Defense to save more runs then every before. The issue is the approach of the hitters. Still way to much swing for the fence. Game one Shaw had 4 great at bats fighting off pitches and not swing at balls in the dirt so what did Craig do bench him 2 of the next 3 games. We have a guy at first base that has 1 huge error that cost us one game and 0 hits. I like Keston but he needs a day or two off to get his head back on his shoulders. I dont think the issues to start this season fall on sterns but Haines trying to get everyone to change the launch angle of their swings. He needs to go.

I am not saying Shaw should be the full time 1st baseman at all but it is clear as day that Hiura needs a day off. He swings at pitches in the dirt on 2-0 counts cant hit anything that hangs in the middle. Its his job to lose but give the guy a mental day off and the schedule has been perfect so far to do it. Get a Lefty bat in against the tough righties. Everyone else has had a day off.

How bad does Hiura need to play before he gets a day off. They have only faced rightys yet no Shaw at first or Vogelbach. The line ups this year have been very questionable to me so far.

Well this is great but are we going to be able to watch them any way if we dont have Direct TV?

Would we want price for 16m a year the next 2 years. With him taking off last year has he been anything but a guy as of late? I dont know Rios that well but that trade to me seems like we would be helping the dodgers keep Turner and drop Price.
