  1. A Brief Diversion: I listen to the games on MLB.com audio. There is a frequent MLB advert/quiz about baseball slang. Has ANYONE ever EVER heard the term "Oppo-Taco" (referring to an opposite field HR) in real life (by anyone other than Joe Buck, whom I confess to dislike irrationally)?
  2. At least we won;t have to worry about being eliminated in the first round of the playoffs, err.. 'post season'
  3. Sorry for my ignorance, as I haven't been around much this season. But do I understand correctly that we have "OK to a little better than OK" starting pitching, but No credible offense and No reliable bullpen?
  4. SO DO I! Warts and all! (I was stationed here in the US Navy in 1978, and I've never left.)
  5. It hurts to see Adames at the plate for the other guys.
  6. We'll be fine when Adames gets back... Oh wait..💩💩💩. Never mind. Even if we still had him, he "might" not be able to pitch better than this clown car. We're on pace to be the '24 White Sox of '25.
  7. I'm going to go out on a limb and say we lack any major league pitching.
  8. When does the REAL season start? This can't possibly be it. 🙁
  9. Greetings from New Orleans. I would have been here sooner, but I had company. :-/
  10. Muck the Fets.
  11. We don't even have a baseball team. Alas!
  12. I can relate. I'm struggling to find some one to cheer for. It's not the Phils, but I am definitely against the Mets. Too bad my Saints are starting to stink. I may have to face real life before long. Bughghghghghgh....
  13. I am a New Orleans Saints fan. My pain is worse than yours!!! 😉
  14. The first team I ever really followed, as a kid, was the AAA Pacific Coast League Padres, who played at the Westgate Ball Park. Al Schuss and Al Coupee (sp?) were the radio announcers. (No TV back then.) But for now, it's basically anyone but the Mets (subject to change.)
  15. He must feel like he never left the Brewers. (Though our offense was pretty decent this year.)
  16. I wish I had posted this.
  17. Somewhere else I posted about a book called "The Cruelest Game." The book was about backgammon, where you can make the best move based on the odds of the dice, but it's the actual roll of the dice that can make or break you. The author made a point of comparing it to being a baseball manager: You can make all of the right moves, and still get crushed on any given pitch.
