  1. That approach is likely to be more successful when you have a roster full of major league players to plug in when you give someone a day off, and several productive hitters in your everyday lineup. This team has neither of those things. It’s tough when your pitchers have to shut down one of the best scoring teams in the league just to have a chance and, as we saw last night, even that may not be good enough. Agreed. This is a bummer of a lineup. Will stink to get swept by the Reds as they are surging.
  2. Listening to this game is making my afternoon at the office more fun than it should be.
  3. Agreed on both counts. There are some very bad announcers around the league, but I don't think Grindle or Levering are among them. My only issue with the two of them is that I have a hard time distinguishing which is which when they're on the same broadcast. Seriously! I can barely tell them apart, by which I mean I can't really.
  4. I listen to a LOT of different announcers from all over the place on MLB-TV (audio only). Levering and Grindle are actually my favorites, silly or not. And either one goes great with Uke. Now, if we just had some reliable hitters....
  5. FWIW, in New Orleans (& south Louisiana) Duplantier is pronounced .. du-PLON-shay with the N barely pronounced
