    When I was a mediocre but enthusiastic softball coach, and when I knew the other team's weakest batter was up, I would give a sign to our pitcher that meant "just throw strikes and she'll get out." That's the sign I'd throw if Ortiz* came up to bat, *insert any name here

    I'm sure Ortiz is a fine human being, but whenever he comes up to bat, I lose hope of scoring or even continuing an inning. (OK, a walk; woot.) Anybody miss Keston Hiura? <pause> How about Isaac Collins or Caleb Durbin?
