  1. For Peralta to be a #3, you need a 1 and a 2. Not sure who those are. Rea? ---?
  2. I wouldn't call him crap. But I wouldn't call him an ace either.
  3. They almost deserved that homer after those 2 horrible strike calls. But yeah, if Freddie is your "ace" you're a few cards short of a full deck.
  4. With a 10-run lead, you want to throw strikes.... And not Walk that guy. 😕 Boogers. Oh well, it's ok.
  5. Just checking... Are we really up 9-0? Don't pinch me.
  6. Try to convince me that Hoby Milner doesn't schtinck
  7. I am actually going to disagree with bashing Murphy. Given the absence of pitching, with Burnes gone and Woodruff missing, I'm surprised we have stayed in first place as long as we have. I credit Murphy. IT'S THE PITCHING,
  8. Just when I bite on MLBTV's end of season sale, the team starts to rot. You can't hide bad pitching forever, especially when the bats have gone into snooze mode. I'm not giving up, but this stretch of lifeless mediocrity SHTINCKS.
  9. How many hitters do we have in the front office? Let's get them in! <Snotty grammar alert>
  10. Public Service Announcement: Many posts (including many of mine) are merely spontaneous expressions of glee or despair based on recent events and should not be interpreted as invitations to a death-duel about game management or front-office management. We now return you to your regular programming. And we'd better score NOW or the season is OVER! bughghghgh!
  11. OK. The hypocrisy of the league, but not the players, profiting from association with "gambling interests" is duly noted. But it seems like there must be a very bright and bold line somewhere to ensure that some financially troubled player doesn't try to profit by betting against himself or his team. I may have missed something (as I do), but perhaps you can suggest where that very bright and bold line should be. For the record: I don't gamble; I just want our games and players to have fundamental integrity. Otherwise, we'll devolve into professional wrestling.... But of course, we know pro wrestling is kayfabe-fake because there's no gambling on it!
  12. Sorry, I have not yet read the whole thing carefully. But I think "Rather" at the start of the second sentence should be "Whether."
  13. Indeed. This is not the office fantasy league.
  14. IN-hale. EX-hale. Every win is good; every loss is bad. After CC (neither C stands for "charisma") hit the road, I never expected the Brewers to be even in serious contention at the end of July. Yeah, they look like they're fading into the mediocrity I feared. But that's not a certainty. Pat seems to be one of those rock-jawed "we can do it anyway" kind of managers. So I'm gonna hope they can indeed do it. Any team that makes it to the playoffs, has a chance. But... merely escaping a sweep in these recent series is not the recipe for success! bughghghgh
  15. especially when the bullpen is a bit dodgy
  16. Yeah. The real lucky play came on the weak dribbler through 6 & 5.
  17. Forget starters. We need relievers who don't pour gasoline on the fire.
  18. Borderline. It would have been a highlight play to get the out.
  19. Just last year I figured we lacked only hitting. This year, we hit pretty good, but it seems the opposition licks their chops when our bullpen comes in.
  20. Now is when you learn who are the real team leaders.
  21. I know this can't be right, but... It's like "yay, we have 5-run lead! Of course we'll win". Sadly, the other team kept playing with the intensity we seem to have lost. Who's kicking some rear end in the clubhouse?!
