  1. Coming out of the 2022 Trade Deadline, you Milwaukee Brewers looked to have 3 series within the division, including a crucial 3-game series against the competing St. Louis Cardinals, plus a 2-game home series against a good Tampa Bay Rays team. Knowing that the sending of Josh Hader to the San Diego Padres was a blow to the morale and confidence to the team [what does it say when management sends an All-Star to another competing NL team], how will the Brew Crew bounce back. Come join the Brew City Couch Committee crew to discuss their thoughts on these 4 series for the Milwaukee Brewers. Week 17 + 18 Recap: 4-7 record - [61-52 Overall] - 2nd in NL Central - Behind of St. Louis by 1.5 Games (STL-MIL-CHC-CIN-PIT) 3 Game Series @ Pittsburgh Pirates Record: 0-3 3-5 L 7-8 L 4-5 L 3 Game Series vs Cincinnati Reds Record: 1-2 5-1 W 5-7 L 2-4 L 2 Game Series vs Tampa Bay Rays Record: 2-0 5-3 W 4-3 W 3 Game Series @ St. Louis Cardinals Record: 1-2 1-3 L 3-2 W 3-6 L NL Central Standings: St. Louis Cardinals (63-51) Milwaukee Brewers (61-52) Chicago Cubs (47-66) Cincinnati Reds (45-68) Pittsburgh Pirates (45-70) NL Top 5 Los Angeles Dodgers (79-34) New York Mets (75-40) Atlanta Braves (70-46) San Diego Padres (65-52) St. Louis Cardinals (63-51) Social Media Handles: Twitter: @ BrewCityCouch Instagram: brew_city_couch_committee Facebook: Brew City Couch Committee: A Milwaukee Brewers Podcast YouTube: Brew City Couch Committee
  2. With the season going into the month of August and the Crew continuing to struggle after the infamous trade deadline where not a single bat was acquired, the offense still seems to be the focal point of the issues. When looking at their stale offense, there seems to be one major elephant in the room... a 26 million dollar elephant... and that is Christian Yelich. For this week's Quick Hit episode, we look into the Brewers' 2 time MVP as the power and clutch still have yet to arrive. In arguably the biggest series of the season for the Brew Crew, on the road against the St. Louis Cardinals, how did that fare? Come join us on the couch and let's talk! View full video

  4. Coming out of the All-Star break, the Brewers got hot and really started creating momentum for their team and their post-season push. The team was looking loose and really enjoying themselves, fans were getting energize, and we were seeing areas of weakness [offense] start to turn it around. The Brewers were scoring more runs than almost any other team in MLB. Then, the trade deadline approached and totally flipped everything on its head. What moves did the Brewers make? How did that impact the team? What message did the trades send to the team, the fans, the franchise...? Come join us for this week's episode with the Brew City Couch Committee crew! Post-All-Star Break Recap: 7-3 record - [57-46 Overall] - 1st in NL Central - Ahead of St. Louis by 2 Games (MIL-STL-CIN-CHC-PIT) almost any other team in MLB. 5. As Brewer fans, we're used to our Brew Crew limping into the break. Since 2013, they've only seen one year where they had a winning record within the final stretch the the All-Star game. For the 2022 season, that was no different. Remember, that includes 4 straight years where the Crew have made the playoffs. Thus, don't let this slump discourage you on they season they've had thus far and what the rest of the year holds for them. With the Brewers, and the rest of the MLB, now reaching that All-Star break, the BCCC crew [specifically Greg and Mike since Jake is a little under the weather] look to talk about how the Brewers have looked in the final weeks leading up to the break along with how they've looked in the first half of the season in general. On top of that, they dive into what their thoughts are on how the second half of the season will go, what needs to be done, and where they feel success will be found. They come to the break with a 42-33 overall record, which is still good enough for 1st in the NL Central, half a game over the Cardinals, and 5th overall in the National League. All-Star Break Recap: Since 6/26: 8-10 record - [50-43 Overall] - 1st in NL Central - Ahead of St. Louis by ½ Game (MIL-STL-PIT-CHC-CIN) 2 Game Series @ Tampa Bay Rays Record: 2-0 4 Game Series @ Pittsburgh Pirates Record: 2-2 3 Game Series vs Chicago Cubs Record: 1-2 3 Game Series vs Pittsburgh Pirates Record: 1-2 2 Game Series @ Minnesota Twins Record: 1-1 4 Game Series @ San Francisco Giants Record: 1-3 NL Central Standings: Milwaukee Brewers (42-33) St. Louis Cardinals (50-44) Pittsburgh Pirates (39-54) Chicago Cubs (35-57) Cincinnati Reds (34-57) NL Top 5 Los Angeles Dodgers (60-30) New York Mets (58-35) Atlanta Braves (56-38) San Diego Padres (52-42) Milwaukee Brewers (50-43) Social Media Handles: Twitter: @ BrewCityCouch Instagram: brew_city_couch_committee Facebook: Brew City Couch Committee: A Milwaukee Brewers Podcast YouTube: Brew City Couch Committee

  8. Coming out of the 2022 Trade Deadline, the Milwaukee Brewers were part of one of the big blockbuster trades for the year. In the trade, the sent LHP Josh Hader, their 3x Reliever of the Year and 4x All-Star closer, to the San Diego Padres for LHP reliever Taylor Rogers, LHP prospect Robert Gasser, RHP Dinelson Lamet, and OF Esteury Ruiz. Following the big August 1st trade, the Brewers then proceeded to acquire some more arms to add to their bullpen including RHP Dave Bush and a head-scratching trade for RHP Trevor Rosenthal. Like the additions or not, the largest question revolves around... where's the bat? What message does this send to the team and to their fans? What kind of impact can a trade like this have on the mentality of the team? Where do they go from here and what can we be optimistic about? Come join our Quick Pitch segment as we discuss the trade and these questions. View full video

  12. Looking at the Brewers' pitching, it is safe to say that they have been doing a great job overall. However, one thing that the BCCC Crew have noticed is that they do have a bit of an issue with giving up a big inning. Furthermore, with the likelyhood of Freddy Peralta getting put on the IL for a bit, how does this impact 1) the 6-man starting rotation that the Brewers utilized and 2) the opportunity it opens up for bringing up young arms from the farm system. Come join for the Brew City Couch Committee's Week 6 “Quick Hit” episode where they look to discuss these topics. View full video

  15. With 35 games now completed for the Milwaukee Brewers, which comes out to almost a quarter of the season, there is a large enough sample size to determine trends that could be considered glaring issues. Even though the offense has picked up some in the last week or so, it is still the biggest concern for the BCCC crew as they just don't have confidence in the consistency yet. Whether its specifically around the offense's approach to the plate / inability to extend an at bat, certain players in the lineup that are platooning, or even down to the lineup Craig Counsell puts together before the game, Brew City Couch Committee looks to analyze and discuss this concern of theirs. Has their high powered offense from Week 3 carried over? Is the starting rotation continuing to show they are amongst the best rotation in the league? Come find out!
