  1. When the Milwaukee fan base in the Playoff's boo's one of its own, not just once but twice like they did with Winker the press needed to ask who in the organization made the decision to put him on the Playoff roster. Our fan base is down to earth and honest and this was so obvious that as surprising as it was to see it showed they know the game better than the organization some times.
  2. They had a solid power hitting and clutch hitting right fielder with arguably the best arm in the league in right field last season who has averaged 36 HR's and 90 RBI's for his career in Hunter Renfroe and made him a salary dump. In addition they traded a multi Gold Glove second baseman for Jesse Winker who is a liability in the outfield and has produced 1 Home Run and is making $8.5M this year for that massive contribution to the team. You can bet at year end Renfroe will be right around his average production number and like he did for the Brewer's when Hot he will Carry His Team for a Week. Can you imagine with the Brewer's 2023 pitching and defense levels what Renfroe would mean to this team.
  3. Not doing the salary dump of Hunter Renfroe would have given the team a consistent power hitter that hit to the opposite field in the clutch and who could carry the team for a week besides playing a solid right field and sometime DH role especially for a team that has been offensively challenged for several years. Renfroe leads the Angels in home runs (10) and RBI's not Trout or Ohtani. Of the Brewers mentioned in the article only Miller puts the bat on the ball consistently and will move runners or bring them in from 3rd with less than 2 outs. Winker had the one big year with the Reds and now the Brewers are the second team hoping he can recapture those results and there could be a third team soon.
  4. The launch angle comments may be valid, the most disturbing thing is the swings and misses for him have been in the strike zone and for a major leaguer that is rare.
  5. Forget today's Cyber Metrics which is great for bloggers even though I spent 30 years working for IBM the eye test for me who has played on the high school, college, and military levels tells me an extension for Renfroe in the range of $15M a year for 3 years would have locked up a solid clutch/power hitter who will hit to the opposite field as a team player and has a gun for an arm in the outfield and plays like a free agent trying to make the roster would be money well spent. How in the world does a guy like Nimmo make $160M over 8 seasons hitting .270 with 12-15 homers and 60 RBI's per season ?
  6. What does that say about the Brewer's talent level when he was their best offensive player, that is embarrassing".

  8. Brock, that was a play on the last name of one of the 3 pitching prospects, Janson Junk. Also, one of the players that was included in the Hader trade Dinelson Lament was waived right after the trade (junk). Everyone knows the Brewer's biggest need is for clutch hitting and Renfroe could carry a team for a week and was a team player (clutch hits to right field which is rare for a right handed power hitter) and a team high batting average for the regulars. I also loved his all out style which fit the Brewer's small market and hard working city theme. Below is what top MLB scribe Ken Rosenthal said about the trade; None of the pitchers the Angels traded for Urshela and Renfroe figure to be worth much of anything in the future. Anyone looking objectively at those deals would say they were salary dumps by the Twins and Brewers. Ken noted Junk and Peguero were throw-ins by the Yankees for two horrible months of Andrew Heaney. And more importantly, if the Angels fall out of it again before the trade deadline, the Angels will get back more than they gave up for Urshela and Renfroe.

  10. Somewhat disappointed, are you kidding me. you put this trade after the Hader trade and it appears you receive junk in return in both deals. Is Brian Gutenkunst the new Brewer's GM ?

  12. After what happened with the Hader trade if they move Burnes look for a full out player mutiny. If they are crazy enough to do it put Yelich in the deal as the deal breaker and YES there is a team that would do the deal. Also, don't count out Stearn's ending up with the Yankee's and not the Met's, that fan base is putting pressure on their GM.

  14. I would pick up the option on Wong and add to it a 2nd season with a value that would balance keeping him. The new rules will make him more valuable at second even though he is no longer a Gold Glover and he is a clutch hitter who can still steal bases. In addition I would look to add 2 years on top of Renfroe''s arbitration number that hopefully both parties can determine is fair value. Renfroe can carry a team for stretches, has one of the best arms in right field and plays hard, how many 30 homer years a guy can you say that for.
