  1. Speaking of Black, #33 here, really? Fantasy Baseball: 50 Top Prospects Rankings for 2024
  2. Via "The Scott Mitchell Show (TSN in Canada)": "Toronto’s own Tyler Black joins the show fresh off a batting practice session thrown by his broadcaster father, Rod, and ahead of a huge spring training for the Brewers infielder, as he heads into camp with a legit chance to crack the opening day roster for the first time in his career. After being selected 33rd overall in 2021, Black talks about his journey from Wright State to the brink of his major-league debut." (go to the 02:40 minute mark)
  3. Wednesday 1/24: Via the Journal Sentinel Podcast: "Brewers reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe discuss the Brewers' big offseason addition, with first baseman Rhys Hoskins reportedly heading to the team in 2024. They discuss how he fits, what it means for the rest of the roster and where else the Brewers might try to bolster their roster in the final weeks of the offseason. Plus: Devin Williams' unique arbitration situation and Ryan Braun in the franchise's Walk of Fame." Via 97.3's "The Steve Czaban Show": Jeff Levering (go to the 03:20 minute mark) Locked on Brewers with Chuck Freimund - "Rhys Hoskins to join the Brewers!" VIDEO via Foul Territory: "Breaking down the Brewers signing Rhys Hoskins" - the AUDIO-only option is here (go to the 05:00 minute mark) Via 97.3's Drew & KB: Tim Allen (go to the 02:20 minute mark) Via "The Scott Mitchell Show (TSN in Canada)": "Toronto’s own Tyler Black joins the show fresh off a batting practice session thrown by his broadcaster father, Rod, and ahead of a huge spring training for the Brewers infielder, as he heads into camp with a legit chance to crack the opening day roster for the first time in his career. 4. Sunday 1/21: Latest Milwaukee Tailgate Podcast - "'On this week's show we took some looks forward with some high-profile prospect lists that came out and looked back remembering some guys and some SI articles."
  5. RHP Dylan File heads back stateside after a brief (two appearances) stint in Korea - Article
  6. Sure we're going to see these five players placed on the Brewers' transaction page at some point, but for now, 30 of the 35 announced international signings are listed there. The ones yet to be listed: RHP Dalvin Bodre, Dominican Republic C Luis Corobo, Venezuela LHP Victor Emiliano Garcia, Mexico SS Joandrew Pena, Venezuela RHP Christopher Peralta, Dominican Republic
  7. In the ABL, there are six teams and the top four make the playoffs in the quest of the best-named championship trophy in sports, the Claxton Shield. The 40-game regular season concluded last night, and Brisbane lost their 4th straight, 11-5, to a dominant Adelaide squad. The Bandits slipped out of second place on Friday and will be on the road visiting old friend Alex Hall and Perth in the league best-of-three semifinal. Regular-season champ Adelaide, 29-11, finished with a run differential of +132, wow. Brisbane finished 22-18 (standings). Tayden Hall started all 40 games at first base for Brisbane. You'll find final stats for he, LHP Brian Fitzpatrick, and RHP Sam Gardner here. Playoffs start later this coming week, we'll provide details.
  8. Tayden Hall got some recognition in Fangraphs' weekly column today - I took the liberty of updating the batting line with the latest: "Tayden Hall is slashing .296/.378/.474 with five home runs in 156 plate appearances for the ABL’s Brisbane Bandits. The recently-turned-21-year-old first baseman/catcher in the Milwaukee Brewers system had a 121 wRC+ this past season between the Arizona Complex League and Low-A Carolina."
  9. *** Recent excellent piece by Curt Hogg in the Journal-Sentinel on Junk here.
  10. Host Lindsay Crosby should be commended for being responsible for providing insights across the entire scope of the MLB prospect landscape. This is a respectable effort for one who is not laser-focused on the Brewers. There is an audio-only option beyond YouTube available here.
  11. Friday 1/19: Reviewing the Brew's" Cold Brew Podcast: "Co-hosts Dave Gasper and Matt Carroll break down the frozen state of the Brewers offseason, the International Signing Window opening and the work the Brewers did there, as well as give our list of our Top 5 most hated Brewers of all time."Locked on Brewers with Chuck Freimund - "Another name has been floating around as a first base possibility - Garrett Cooper... Are the Milwaukee Brewers going to be on TV this season? Who are the Brewers biggest threats to unseat them in the division? It might be the Cincinnati Reds.. The "Locked on Reds" fellas also stop by on the show." *** This next podcast is really strong - we've had a chance to meet Brenton Del Chiaro in prior audio this fall and winter, Feel free to learn about his own background through the 16:40 minute mark. At that point, specific prospect / player discussions begin, kicking off with several minutes on Jackson Chourio. As our poster SF70 noted on the Minor League Forum - "Hearing him say Joey Wiemer sent Connor Dawson tape of changes he’s made in the box this winter and people will be surprised to see them at ST has me stoked. Also saying Sal Frelick was never fully recovered from his thumb injury last year with MKE and next year he will be fully healthy was nice to hear as well." So much more within - enjoy!
  12. Whoa, tough series thus far vs. the Adelaide Giants. Doubleheader, Game One: 17-2 loss (box, no Brewers pitched) Tayden Hall, 0-for-3 *** Game Two (6-3 loss, box) Hall 1-for-3 with a K, and the hit was of the long variety: LHP Brian Fitzpatrick's start: 4 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 2 BB, 1 K, 1 HR RH reliever Sam Gardner finally has a non-zero ERA (0.40), he faced three batters - struck out the 1st man, struck out the 3rd, but surrendered a home run in between. Shocking, we know - love that he immediately fanned the next batter.
  13. **** Also good to see another scout who is a person of color added to the ranks (and yes, as you'll see when you click the Tweet, Dexter has vowed a change of allegiance!
  14. Now, now, we await the full coaching roster across the system within a few weeks if not sooner, landing spots yet to be confirmed...👀
