  1. Just a heads-up that our Minor League Forum is hard at work as well when it comes to sources for your ears and eyes - click the logo below.
  2. Technically it's a minor league transaction, but because catcher Austin Nola netted a big-league camp invite (growing that list to nine players), you can read about it on our Major League Forum,
  3. On Saturday in Australia, Brisbane only mustered three hits in a 4-0 loss (Box Score) 1B Tayden Hall 0-for-3 (one K), .295 AVG, .375 OBP, .400 SLG, 105 AB's (.775 OPS)LHP Brian Fitzpatrick had a fine start - 5 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 6 K, you'll see his numbers through eight starts at the link below.Team Stats Brian Fitzpatrick got the call to start for Brisbane and, as he has been all season, was terrific through five innings of work, punching out six Heat batters while only giving up three hits along the way. The only blemish on his night came in the top of the 5th after Heat first baseman Jake Bowey threaded a line drive through the middle of the field into center. Fitzpatrick hit the next batter, Raudelis Martinez, but got Nehomar Ochoa Jr. to ground into a double play and it looked like he would get out of the jam. But Carlos Sanchez slashed a 2-1 fastball down the left field line for a triple, scoring Bowey and giving the Heat a 1-0 lead. Over 30 seconds of Fitzpatrick mound highlights begin at the 15-second mark here:
  4. One of the most thorough write-ups we see each winter comes from Aram Leighton and the justbaseball.com site. Fifteen very detailed writeups and twelve additional prospects highlighted at that link. In addition, the associated podcast has landed as well: APPLE SPOTIFY
  5. Making sure everyone sees/listens to this featured production: Draft tandem JD Cameron and Jeremy Nygaard team up for a new podcast to discuss prospects on their way to the big leagues. Image courtesy of Thieres Rabelo After a week's hiatus for the Holidays, the guys are back to take a deep dive into the Brewers system. 6. This video interview won't be everyone's choice to invest an hour-plus, but this extended chat with Wisconsin Timber Rattlers' Senior Graphic Designer (and so much more within his responsibilities) Nick Guenther was pretty cool in my opinion, so consider sampling this discussion. Plenty of insights into Timber Rattlers gameday, day-to-day prep work, off-season activities, etc. Via the Wisconsin Front Office Page: 2023 marks Nick's 11th season working in professional baseball and 8th with the Timber Rattlers. Before joining the Rattlers, Nick was a video production intern for the Southern Illinois Miners '13, Indianapolis Indians '14, and graphic designer for the Sugar Land Skeeters '15. He is originally from the northwest suburbs of Chicago and graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a degree in Sports Television Production. During games, you can find Nick on the field or in the stands shooting photography and video. Nick also has a unique set of social skills that include laughing when he shouldn't, telling jokes in awkward situations, and saying "you too" when the waiter tells him to enjoy his meal. In his free time, Nick enjoys fishing, riding his motorcycle, and exercising. If you visit, the guys catch up with each other and then the baseball career-intensive talk begins around the 07:00 minute mark.
  7. Thursday 1/4: Reviewing the Brew's" Cold Brew Podcast: "Co-hosts Dave Gasper and Matt Carroll discuss the big happenings with the Brewers. The Brewers traded for Dodgers pitcher Bryan Hudson, giving up a sizable return for the towering lefty. Dave isn't so sure of the process that went into this deal was the right one. Also, there's rumored interest in a free agent first baseman, and how concerning is the state of the starting rotation right now?" 14. Wednesday 1/3: Locked on Brewers with Chuck Freimund - "There are 42 days until the glorious beginning to Spring Training with pitcher and catchers reporting to Phoenix. The Milwaukee Brewers roster is at a "standstill" Hopefully that changes by then. They are sitting on a 98 million dollar payroll, thats not good enough. We will talk about this and the Brewers latest move, and "Who were you right/wrong about?"" Via the "Barrel Banter Podcast": "Grading Recent Trades & The Barrel Banter's Bests in Brewers' History"
  15. Box Score 1B Tayden Hall 1-for-3 (single), .313 AVG, .813 OPS, 99 AB's. RHP Sam Gardner a scoreless 8th inning for the hold, striking out three (of course), and maintaining his 0.00 ERA. He K'd old friend Alex Hall to begin the inning, then allowed a walk and single (now 1st and 2nd), before two more K's. Team Stats Gardner is now 4-0 in ten relief appearances, 0.00 ERA (as noted), 1 SV, 18.1 IP, 6 H, 6 BB, 40 K.
