  1. We've now lost both Mom's from the Parent Trap movies, Natasha Richardson's ski accident so sad in '09.
  2. There is a wondrous number of interviews, both with stars living and since passed, via the Archive of American Television at http://www.emmytvlegends.org/interviews/all-interviewees Each is catalogued with a "highlight" section, but in many cases, full length interviews, some extending several hours, can be found. Dick Van Patten (Eight is Enough), Russell Johnson (Gilligan's Island) as recent examples, and so many others we've highlighted in this thread, are among them. Incredibly addicting if you have the interest and the time.
  3. Brewers now tell us they accepted cash in the Hunter Morris deal, not a PTBNL.
  4. Hey, the Pirates owe us a player! Hope the initial list was solid, because this wasn't.
  5. Also Martin Milner from Adam-12 at 83 and Judy Carne of Laugh-In, 76. Learned that Carne suffered from several of life's hardships, many of them brought upon via addiction.
  6. What a tough week for this fan. First Batgirl, and now Wrangler Jane from F Troop, Melody Patterson. In January 2008, I did one of our "Google Won't Save You" mystery threads on Melody, but the image links didn't stay active. Just 66, darn it.
  7. Tonight's trade of LH reliever Neal Cotts to the Twins bumps this deal off the initial post in this thread, which details the last trade with all 29 other MLB teams. Twins (06/02/11) -- Acquired cash in exchange for OF Jeremy Reed
  8. Many will remember the last trades prior to this week with the Cardinals and Orioles, but if you knew that Astros deal -- wait, who am I kidding... Cardinals (08/30/13) -- Acquired a player to be named (RHP Michael Blazek) in exchange for RHP John Axford Orioles (07/23/13) -- Acquired 3B Nicky Delmonico in exchange for RHP Francisco Rodriguez Astros (09/11/07) -- Acquired cash in exchange for RHP Dennis Sarfate
  9. Initial post bumped for the Aramis Ramirez trade, moving the Hunter Morris / PTBNL trade off the board. So two of the last three Brewer trades have been with Pittsburgh, with only the minor league deal sending RHP Chris Leroux to the Phillies for cash in between.
  10. Eight Is Enough's Dick Van Patten, gone at 86. One of the better comb-overs, even back in the day. Eight Is Enough was right in our families' TV wheelhouse, Elizabeth was one of my several teenage TV crushes, but that's not the point, here. The other "Dick Van", Van Dyke, still hanging in there at 89, although the trusted periodicals in my grocery store line indicate he may not be doing so well, understandably at that age. (Van Dyke did just guest-star on a recent episode of "The Middle", with 83-year-old brother Jerry.)
  11. The need for pitching reinforcements at the Triple A level led the Phillies to acquire veteran right-hander Chris Leroux from Milwaukee in a cash deal on Monday. That's the first trade between the clubs since this one nearly nine years ago: Phillies (07/28/06) -- Acquired 3B David Bell in exchange for LHP Wilfrido Laureano Leroux had been placed on the Sky Sox DL on 5/10 and was eligible to be activated.
  12. Prior to today's Hunter Morris deal with Pittsburgh (now detailed with the other 28 teams as well in the initial post in this thread), the prior "Last Deal With..." the Pirates was just to bolster the AAA staff last August: Pirates (08/07/14) -- Acquired RHP Jay Jackson in exchange for cash considerations
  13. Some of my best "being silly" TV teenage memories -- dancing to the Gong Show set with "Gene Gene the Dancing Machine", now gone at 82.
  14. Catching up from last month, it had been quite a while since the Brewers and Dodgers last dealt -- this trade has been replaced on our tracker -- Dodgers (07/31/09) -- Acquired RHP Claudio Vargas in exchange for C Vinny Rottino with this recent swap: Dodgers (12/18/14) -- Acquired LHP Jarret Martin and OF/IF Matt Long in exchange for C Shawn Zarraga *** Prior to the Yovani Gallardo deal, it also had been some time since the Brewers last made a deal with the Rangers -- in fact, there had only been a longer trade drought with nine organizations. Rangers (03/22/10) -- Brewers acquired INF Ray Olmedo in exchange for C Matt Treanor We have updated the first post in this thread to reflect this trade and the "Last Trade With..." all 29 other organizations.
  15. Donna Douglas, Elly May on 'Beverly Hillbillies,' dead at 81 Only Jethro remains... Max Baer Jr. On Donna Douglas: ‘She Was Elly May Until The Day She Died’
  16. Prior to the most recent acquisitions of Adam Lind and Kyle Wren -- Blue Jays (09/21/12) -- Acquired C Yorvit Torrealba cash in exchange for cash Braves (06/03/13) -- Acquired IF Juan Francisco in exchange for LHP Thomas Keeling Keeling was released by the Braves, and then subsequently released by his indy league team last August.
  17. Not so, this clip will help explain -- http://youtu.be/o0KjZ_OFaFQ
  18. I know this thread began as an honor to the 85+ crowd, but I was so disheartened to read about the loss of Welcome Back, Kotter's Marcia Strassman after a seven-year battle against breast cancer, at age 66. Time racing too quickly - many will remember M*A*S*H (first season), and the "Honey, I Shrunk..." movies. So pretty and sweet, goodbye to another childhood crush... My wife is aware and flattered that one of her immediate redeeming qualities to me upon meeting her as my future wife in '84 was her resemblance to Ms. Strassman (I married up ).
  19. Prior to today's acquisition of AAA RHP Jay Jackson, the Brewers most recent trade with Pittsburgh was this one: Pirates (12/12/11) -- Acquired RHP Jose Veras in exchange for 3B Casey McGehee
  20. Before the Gerardo Parra acquisition detailed in the initial post, this was the last trade with Arizona: Diamondbacks (07/19/09) -- Acquired INF Felipe Lopez in exchange for OF Cole Gillespie and RHP Roque Mercedes Gillespie, now 30 years old, has seen big league time as recently as this season with Seattle and Toronto in a classic 4A mode; Mercedes returned to the Brewers organization in 2011, but his career ended in independent ball later that season.
  21. Reds (08/09/10) -- Acquired OF Chris Dickerson in exchange for OF Jim Edmonds *** This has been replaced with today's acquisition of minor league OF Josh Fellhauer for cash considerations.
  22. Wow, that last trade with Oakland didn't last long -- As discussed here and here on our forums, RHP Rodolfo Fernandez of the Timber Rattlers goes to Oakland for International Signing Bonus Slot #57 ($339,000).
  23. Prior to today's deal of LHP Brad Mills to Oakland for cash considerations ($1 as it turns out with the unique opt-out circumstances), the last trade between the clubs involved two players now out of baseball, even though it was just completed a year ago March. Athletics (03/20/13) -- Acquired 3B Stephen Parker for RHP Darren Byrd (Complete running "Last Trade With..." list remains at the top of this thread...)
