FYI, Sarfate is pitching today. Knox is back at AA as well replacing Belcher. Knox with a 2 run double after Prince singled and Nelson doubled. Announcer mentioned the trade and DIDNT mention a PTBNL as a part of it, just Bergeron. HMMM!!!!!! Barnwell just singled Knox in, 3-0 stars. 2 out still. Portnoy is announcing and is talking about how big of an upside Rogers has. Said he talked to some scouts who said that he has the most upside of any HS pitcher theyve seen in a while. Chat with a couple of runs in the top of the 2nd. Triple scored a run after Sarfate walked a guy, not sure how they got the other run. 3-2
Baseballs will be presented to the first 1,500 kids 14 and under on Saturday and the first 1,500 fans will receive a minibat at Sunday afternoon's game. ------------ Hopefully Milton bradley isnt in the stands tomorrow night.
As big a Corey Hart fan as I am, I think it would be best for Corey to spend the whole season in AAA, because that is the only place he's going to get to play everday. ---- i agree with blazin. The kid is still only 22 years old. No need for him to go to Mil and be used in a platoon situation. Hes in a developemental stage still, and one more thing, he has good numbers, but not GREAT numbers. I wanna see some GREAT numbers from some of these guys before they get promoted full time.
Looks like a small cup of coffee has sparked Hart. What are his stats since he has went back down? Couple of Multi-hit games and some RBI's. ------ actually he slumped a little bit, but is now getting it back. according to him, i read he said it somewhere on this site.
Robert Portnoy deserves more kudos... he is just a pleasure to listen to. ------------- I wholeheartedly agree. Nice to see some good pitching tonight, but like someone said, whats going on with this organizations offense? Early season slumps or overrated?
Stars scored on a monster Nelson homerun. Ford also gave up a solo dinger. --- normally i wouldnt post if someone got a hit, but it was Weeks, so I am. Chavez on third after doubling. 1st and third 1 out.
The Stars will try to even this series, Thursday, with Matt Ford (1-1, 3.06) making his comeback....... He'll pitch two innings, then make way for Dennis Sarfate, who has not been scored upon in his last two starts, covering 13 innings......
hopefully with Hendu he can regain some of what he once had. To spend a 4th rounder on somone they must have what it takes, its whether someone puts it all together. Going under the knife numerous times of course gonna set someone back. If he stays healthy all year, there just might be hope for the guy.
thats abuot what I thought regarding hendu. Man, low 80;s in Beloit last year? Yikes. I guess if the guy could hit 90 consistently then he might have a future, but from what I see, guess not.
finally some good news on the pitching front this weekend. Saenz with a great day. Good to see Belcher and Nelson staying warm too with Prince out. Come on Rickie, Time to get HOT!!!
Let me ask you kane, who do you take off the roster to add Woolard? Let me follow that up with, who do you take off the roster on May 7th when the roster size decreases to 23 in Huntsville? Finally, my 'gut feeling' says he's not going to be moved any time soon. And my 'gut feelings' have yet to be wrong. Check any/all of my previous posts regarding player moves/transactions ---------------- LOL!!! remember this post Brewcru? Gut feelings? Too funny!!!!!!!!!!!! Guess you were just PROVED WRONG!
Weeks and de la Rosa, please. ------------ I wouldnt say Weeks need a fire lit, he just needs time to grow. De La Rosa for sure though. How about Kade Johnson!
stars win the game. Prince doubled Nelson flew out Belcher singled Barnwell homered to tie it. Alvarado walked WP sends Alvarado all the way to third with one out Chavez hit one to fairly deep center and the fielder didnt make the catch, not sure what the scoring his, should be a hit to win it.
not sure if anyone is listening to the Stars game, but prince has a 2 run homer. 1-4 overall, last at bat just missed another, a high deep shot that was called foul, but it was real close and a tough call because of how high it was over the fou pole.
Wise's start today means that Hendrickson is NOT being called up, and Wes is starting on Saturday. This was confirmed by Uecker and Powell. Capuano will be taking today's spot in the rotation when he's ready to go. --------- ok, regardless, him starting saturday shows me he is NOT the 4th starter and is guaranteed the ball every fifth day. When was his last start?
Wes is the 4th starter right now. He will be in the rotation regardless. ----- How is that? Sheets, Davis, Santos went the past three days, so why did Wise start today? and then Sheets tomorrow with Hendrickson taking the 5th spot Saturday? I see a guy OUT of the rotation as we speak.
