  1. And Walther comes through! A ground ball goes under the diving first baseman's glove and 2 runs score! Muddies lead!
  2. One pitch, one out for Encarnación. Right at the pitcher. Di Turi with a soft ground out to second. Ordonez draws a quick walk (3rd for pitcher Romero today). Lameda hits a double to the left field corner and its 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs for Mr. Walther
  3. Carlos Carra is back out. Gets a fastball by the batter for a swinging strikeout on a full count. Walks the second guy also on a full count. Pitch in the dirt. Oh man and a pitch bounces off Walther's mitt and the runner advances. Man on 2nd 1 out. Another full count and Carra gets a swinging K on a beautiful curveball. Grounder to Di Turi and the inning is over. A lot of pitches for Carra but he's looked good.
  4. Top of the 3rd in Fredericsburg, 0-0. Ortuno hits a weak liner to center and he's out. Ragsdale (after a questionable strike one) draws a walk. Bitonti hits one well but directly at the rightfielder. Anderson flies out to right-center. Bottom 3 next Btw, I admitedly know little about catching but Fredericksburg's catcher's receiving looks really rough
  5. Really hope the Muddies can end on a high. It's been a rough patch but maybe they can do something special onelast time
  6. Hopefully they get a win for birthday boy Mr. Rick Sweet
  7. Let me rephrase. I do not judge a player entirely based on that number. OPS, wRC+, etc are a lot more nuanced in determining who a player is. Average tells you something but it is extremely limited
  8. Unless average is under 180 or over 300 I dont consider it a relevant stat. And he's been marginally better (99 vs 96 wRC). I also think that when talking about trades at the deadline in-season stats are the most relevant
  9. (Oli Dunn for #15 a few years from now will be a generational pull) On base Jace!
  10. 51.3% hard hit rate, .820 OPS and 127 wRC+ vs lefties as a Ray. I understood the move and even liked it with Contreras not hitting well at the time. It just didn't work out 14.3% hh rate, .521 OPS and 52 wRC+ vs LHP as a Brewer. No clue why he cratered
  11. 3-3 vs Blue Jays and Phillies I'll take. Not the nicest losses but that's baseball. If they can go 12-9 or 11-10 for the rest of the season I will not mind. At this point, getting to the playoffs healthy is the priority.
  12. Come on man he's third in the most recent Cy Young poll. Pitchers dont go 6 anymore. Less than 15 qualified guys average 6+ and one of them is Houser who isnt exactly an ace. Its not 1990 anymore
  13. Someone like Brice Turang! 😉

  15. If he is put on the roster tomorrow is he elligible? Because I would much prefer Urias over Berroa
  16. Bad loss today but overall good result this series. If we take 2 from the Phillies series I think we are in a great position. 3 vs PIT, 3 vs TEX, 6 vs STL, 3 vs LAA, 3 vs SD and 3 vs CIN is an ok schedule. As long as we don't implode things should be fine
  17. Reaaally hope the Muddies can make it to the playoffs. Sad to end the story at Five County like this
