    I like the move. You either keep Woody, who has proven he is good post injury (and my understanding is the new injury shouldn't be a problem), or you get a high pick with its associated high bonus money.

    Yeah Strasbourg is the worst case scenario 100% but it is a possibility. The point Im making is that injuries concern me. Also not assuming super 2 it may or may not be a factor we'll see. Trust me I get your point. And Miz really is exceptional. Its just on principle I am against making ANY long term (3+ years) commitment to ANY pitcher. Made, Peña, Dinges, etc I 100% agree we need to sign. Pitchers scare me. But agree to disagree. Also I feel I need to apologise. I genuinely thought you were willfully misunderstanding tha Strasbourg example. I should have been clearer

    The comparison is with regards to the major injury that ended the guy's career and cost the nationals hundreds of millions. Burnes got 6-10-15 so that's what I assumed. Sure every contract is a gamble. But every gamble has different odds. I think offering Made the extension is more worth it than Miz. Its not a choice between the two I agree and I never said it was.

    Dont be coy you know what I mean. Big contract followed by immediate career ending injury. Obviously that is the absolute worst-case scenario. My thinking is: over the next 5/6 years (super 2 and 2027 negotiations pending) we will pay Miz around 30M. A 100/120M extension for 8/9 years means paying about 80M for 2 or 3 more years. TJ loses you 1 or 1 1/2 years. Woodruff lost almost 2 on his shoulder issue. That is a 50M dollar gamble and, lets face it, Miz WILL get injured eventually and may never go back to what he was. For me, too risky. I'd much rather extend Made/Peña/Dinges etc

    With Mitchell's injury history, letting Perkins go would be malpractice. He's a top 3 defender in baseball and mediocre enough with the bat to justify his spot. We had the same depth going into the season but Berroa and Avans still saw playing time.

    Unfortunate the Jays lost because Lauer's performance will be lost to history. Absolutely amazing stuff. That 2022 season was sooo good from him. No clue what happened in 2023 but Im glad he got his mojo back

    Sinker-slider low slot lefty. Sits 89. Really stuggled this year. 2024 he was more of a 4seam guy and he had mor success. Throw him in the lab and maybe there is something there
