Mike Felder

I have a Sprint smartphone (BlackBerry) and got terrible reception/coverage during last year's playoffs (which is the only time I really tried to use it there - between innings to text friends, etc.). Texts would not send, calls were impossible to make, etc. I'm hoping that's improved soon.

The dates for the last game of the 2012 regular season and first game of the 2012 World Series are already set in stone. MLB had to shoehorn in the one-game playoffs without pushing the start of the WS back. Going to the 2-3 format in the Division Series eliminates a travel day and allows them to do that. Next year it won't be an issue, because baseball won't be deciding the number of playoff teams one month before the season and they can plan for the extra games when setting the postseason schedule, so it's back to 2-2-1 in 2013.

Yep, mentioned that in the same paragraph you quoted. Oh..sorry..didn't see that. Poked around a bit...it's all stuff on the internet so take it for what it's worth, but I have seen that Graves can cause hyperthyroidism, which can cause low testosterone levels in males...so perhaps he's been taking a testosterone supplement to offset that? I don't know, it's probably grasping at straws, but I'm content to do that for a little while longer at least.

I like it. My favorite part of the whole thing is that, according to the story on the Orioles' website, the home batting helmets will match the caps and feature the white panel on the front. One of my favorite random baseball things from my childhood are helmets with a white (or colored) front panel - like the old Orioles, Blue Jays, and yes, like the Brewers wore from '78-'85. It doesn't work for every team and every logo, but I think it definitely does for the Orioles.

Yeah...I really hope this Kotsay in CF thing works out. But I'm not too optimistic. Gomez in CF at least gives you defense. Kotsay gives you...a LH bat? Veteran savvy?

FWIW, Hawkins tweeted that he was almost positive game 1 was going to be at 12:30 on Saturday and McCalvy retweeted it as if to kinda-sorta confirm it...

Gotta have at least a split. I'm not so worried about the Cardinals anymore. I know it could still happen that they catch us, but it's pretty astronomical. I'm more concerned with losing the 2 seed to the Diamondbacks (I believe we're only 2.5 games up on them). They're playing good ball lately, and to me, it would be a big disappointment to have to go to Philly rather than host Atlanta.
