I personally saved this post for myself as a beautiful encapsulation of the beauty of that first experienced championship. I felt that way about the Packers in 1996, and the Bucks in 2021. ONE MORE GAME to experience that freedom ONE MORE TIME. Post of the year!

I predict the Bucks tonight have caught "Brewer Fever" and will be the start of a RELENTLESS rebuild.

The best part about not playing their best baseball yet, is that we've been saying this about them ALL YEAR! This is who they are... 'Not our best baseball' DOMINANCE!

To me, it's about hopes finally NOT being dashed. 1982 - Starting following the Crew as a kid. Fell in love with that team, and even after they lost, was sure they'd win in a year or two 1987 - Listened to every game on the radio, and was crushed when all those magical moments ended outside the playoffs 1992 - Watched every Sports Center highlight, and was sure that September run was going to take them all the way 2002ish - With Doug Melvin on board, started following the minors religiously, and brewerfan,net only fueled my optimism that this team was slowly but surely building something special 2008-12 - was so sure the prospects I'd been following for years (Hardy, Hart, Prince, Weeks, Braun) would eventually win won for us. When Corey Hart left, I remember feeling so sad. It was the end of an era, start of another rebuild, and nothing to show for it. 2018-24 - with an MVP and elite pitching, and yet one crushing playoff exit after another, I resigned myself to the fact that the playoffs are a crapshoot, and just enjoy the journey 2025-26 - with the best prospect system in baseball, I was hopeful that maybe...someday...we might get a lucky break and sneak into a World Series, maybe when Chourio and Miz and Made are in their prime. I never expected this kind of run...this year...with this group of gamers.

As much as I love booing Counsell, for that reason, we maybe should start giving him a standing O. If Counsell is never our manager, than Murphy is never in the Brewers organization. If Counsell hadn't left and Murphy took his place, I don't think we are in the World Series. So Greg, here's to you! Thanks for coming, and thanks for LEAVING!

...also that out of the three players we got in the Durbin trade (Harrison, Drohan, Hamilton), Hamilton would be the one who would have a HUGE role in making it to the World Series, including the best OPS on the team. Speaking of which, if there is one ex Brewer who I was sad wasn't a part of the celebration last night, it's Caleb Durbin. That dude seemed like the perfect fit for this RELENTLESS club persona. But after what Hamilton did last night and this postseason, I'm glad we made the trade.

I think the reason Manny continues to get boo'ed (and will continue to do so) is two fold: 1) it was a dirty, morally wrong play 2) he showed no remorse after it happened Here's my comparison: Ryan Braun's PED mess: Was it dirty/ morally wrong? Yes. Did he show remorse? Eventually, yes. Therefore, he's no longer boo'ed (and after years of at least outward humility, he's actually beloved). Greg's managerial mess: was it dirty/morally wrong to choose to manage the Cubs? YES Did he show remorse? Like, Manny, NO. Therefore, he is and will be eternally booed. Brewer fans are a forgiving bunch. Manny and Greg, just own up to it, and the Boos will go away.

I'm surprised the original "Coop" hasn't been mentioned. I think right now I would choose Cecil over Christian, though a Brewer World Series the next couple years, and Yeli not completely tanking the last two years of his contract would put him on the Mount.
