  1. Chronic pulled quad playing softball - getting out of the box. Every year. Multiple times. Debilitating. Hit a double or triple possibly and halfway to second the loudest explosion from a human body happened - and a millisecond later I was on the ground in a heap. Tore my hamstring. Second baseman said he heard it and it was disgusting. Ended up black and blue from my butt to back of my knee.
  2. Lots of thunder and rain here right now. Same thing we had last night.
  3. Forgot seats. I’d get club seats. The AC can come in HUGE on a hot day.
  4. I live in Pittsburgh but born in Milwaukee. I’ve been here now 19 years. Marriott is a great place to stay. The one across the bridge or the one right next to the stadium. The street will be blocked off before the game so you can check out some local bars right by the park. Rivera casino is just a short Uber or 15 min walk away. North side has a great bar area (between PNC and Heinz). If you are younger go to the south side and enjoy about 20 blocks of bars and Tom foolery. Lots of good bars and restaurants in the cultural/downtown area too. Church brew works is cool but farther away than most. Still not far Uber but not much around it.
  5. I have never heard of this or viewed the video. Just complete chaos for a few seconds. It’s a great read on the backstory of the video too. https://tht.fangraphs.com/ted-simmons-and-the-bizzarre-brawl/
  6. Hate unwritten rules. If they’re that important write them down....otherwise stop whining and play the dang game. Pitcher tries to get batter out, batter tries to get a hit. Do your job better. This idea of a team is entitled to your “mercy” in some weird fashion is a sad state and continues on with this whole whoa is me problem. If you don’t want the other team to try, forfeit the game right then and there. Simple. If not shut up and play ball.
  7. When I worked in that building I saw a few of the guys grabbing coffee in the shop connecting the hotel from the business tower. Saw Gallardo on more than one occasion. Pretty sure nobody around them even knew there were about five ball players in line, except me.
  8. Used to be the Westin
  9. anyone here a plumber?? I have an issue at home when we run the washing machine in the basement on a warm or hot cycle, the upstairs bathtub faucet turns on(hot water). It's two levels above the washer. It seems to turn on when you flush a toilet, or run another sink or something else along with it. I'm not sure if it has turned on without anything else being turned on in the house. Obviously we are wasting a ton of money as the hot water is running right into the bathtub drain but I'm not even sure where to start. Also - when you do turn the handle on a sink's hot water...it feels very hard to actually turn...like there is some serious pressure preventing it from going on....almost feels like you would break something. I know this is weird...I'll probably just call a plumber and pay the damn $500 or whatever but maybe it's a simple solution.... ??
  10. Match 1 - tie. seriously that could be argued either way and I wouldn't disagree. But I'd take team 2 because of Andre. But after I typed that...I'm still not sure. ha. Match 2 - I thought team 1 immediately and I'm sticking with it..but after debating it...they are close. Match 3 - Team 1 and this was easy for me. Plus they would kill on the mic! Match 4 - Team 1 but ONLY because of Vince and Shane on the other team. They're not full time wrestlers so I take team 1 but their other 3 are great. But Team 1 one has no fluff. Match 5 - Team 2. It's like a big vs little match...I'll take the big guys (and Daniel bryan) Match 6 - Team 1. But I loved the New Age Outlaws....Team 1 is just deeper to me all around. Match 7 Team 2. The most meh pairings of the list imo.
  11. Hey guys - I read this forum probably 300 days out of 365 but rarely post....have been a lurker for probably 15 years.....I have never visited another brewer fan website because I don't know any others actually. But I love the information and its really the only way an out of towner can get good info on the team and farm system. Keep up the good work to everyone... Now then, I found this article and didn't see it mentioned anywhere.....but if it has been...my apologies... http://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/sports/lsu/article_2e5e19d6-7966-11e8-9a1b-3b274cf02d31.html (looks good for Cabell and Turang - spoiler)
  12. How about we do a poll on here somehow: pick your winner Trout or Cabrera and throw in our age. I'm 42 and I am on team Cabrera. Does that make me old in this context? My guess is I would be around borderline, maybe leaning old, but who knows.
  13. I thought before hearing any of the talking heads on tv, that Cabrera was a lock for MVP. Then I hear some people say it is an old school vs new school argument. For me - I can't fathom a guy winning the triple crown and NOT winning MVP (yes I know it happened in the past). I don't recall defense ever playing a part in the MVP, kind of in a strange, opposite way, that offense plays a MAJOR role in who wins gold gloves, which is the most insane thing ever. Anyway - I've got Cabrera in a landslide and for me, it isn't even close. (but I do think it is interesting that some others think Trout and for that, I will be opening up my brain to new ideas moving forward and maybe investigating some more of these WAR numbers, etc.)
