  1. I got married on July 18. At the rehearsal dinner as a surprise to me, my wife brought out a small wrapped present. I open it to find a framed note written by Braun congratulating me on getting married and an RSVP signed (declined) for our wedding invitation. Apparently my wife invited Ryan Braun to our wedding, knowing that I am a huge fan of his. She knew he would decline but wanted to see if he would sign the RSVP card and send it back. He did along with the note. This will be on my wall forever and will eventually be passed down to my kids. Really cool that he would take the time to do something like that.
  2. Anyone ever tried beer from Central Waters Brewery in Amherst, WI? The stuff is fantastic...everything I've tried has been really complex and interesting. Notables include the Bourbon Barrel Cherry Stout, Mudpuppy Porter, and the Ouishconsing Red. I HIGHLY recommend getting some if you are in the Waupaca/Iola/Amherst area.
  3. I heard CareerBuilder.com is the best resource for jobseekers...
  4. The sport would be much more competitive with 100% revenue sharing than a salary cap, IMO. Revenue sharing would also be more easily approved by the union.
  5. Thanks for your help everyone. In the end I decided that it was too valuable to toss, and we ate it this morning before the game. Not sick yet... (crossing my fingers)
  6. Yeah, I threw them right in the fridge this morning. I think the drain just doesn't fully seal the bottom of the sink. I'm marinating them to cook Sunday morning for a Packer tailgate...I just don't want to make anyone sick.
  7. Last night around 9pm I put some vacuum sealed, frozen wild duck breasts in a sink full of cold water to defrost. I fell asleep and woke up at 6am to find the water gone and the birds completely defrosted. Does anyone know if they are safe to cook now? I feel like they should be fine... Let me know if I run the risk of death.
  8. What is the over/under on number of posts until this thread gets locked? I'll go with 7...
  9. Am I missing something here? I read Capuano was supposed to get the start, and the frontpage of the Brewers website says "listen live as Capuano takes on Carlos Silva." Was he a late scratch?
  10. That lineup really doesn't impress me one bit. I would hope that we are able to acquire another power bat.
  11. You really think they're going to $120 million JohnBriggs? I think they may go over $100 million but I doubt it goes much higher. All indications here in Chicago is that payroll for the Cubs will be in that $120 mil range. They are serious about contending fast because of the increased popularity of the Sox.
  12. does he ever post on bf.net anymore? i havent seen him on here in months.
  13. My friend and I are sitting in section 104 right now (on my mobile internet), i cant believe how far the Koskie flyout traveled...the ball is really flying out tonight. On an unrelated note, there are a lot of good looking females in the park tonight. war hot college girls.
  14. haha....6-3 just made my argument sound much better than 5-3...
  15. I think it should be pretty clear to all now that you *cant* just plug a rookie (or young player) in place of a veteran and expect them to produce without growing pains. we have seen the growing pains of prince and rickie so far this year, and the only consistent run producer has been carlos. think we'd be 6-3 this year with cruz instead of lee? i dont think so...
