  1. I try not to do it but this is ridiculous. Ump took the bat out of Vaughn's hands and just ended Quintana's night because his zone isn't consistent.
  2. Annoyed. Hats don't bother me, so yeah, it's not rational. I'm not bothered by opposing team jerseys at Am Fam, but... I'm aware it's not rational.
  3. Game is still tied after 5 because the ump expanded the zone on Yelich and Vaughn. What a joke.
  4. Given the location of the 3B when he approached the bag it should have been pretty obvious he would be near the bag. I love Sal but that was really foolish.
  5. Guy in the crowd wearing a Royals hat and jersey. I don't know why, but it's a massive pet peeve of mine when I go to a game and see someone wearing the jersey of a team that isn't playing. 😃
  6. Still early! They've had a couple of hard hit balls right to defenders again, although not as many as they did in games 2 through 4 against the Cubs. It'll come around at some point
  7. It was. The schedule literally ended up designed to favor the Cubs in that 5 game series. It's disappointing to lose it, no doubt, but it's actually not bad outscoring the Cubs on the road over the course of the series and taking 2 of 5 from them given the absence of Chourio (and Hoskins I suppose?) and the way the staff had to be used given this brutal stretch of 19 games in 18 days.
  8. Was at work during the game today and just watched a (very) condensed version that was a long highlight reel. I don't want to make stupid grand pronouncements, but that Collins hit was massive. Decent chance they win without it given Megill's performance but Collins pushing it to 4-1 was a cleanser after 3 games of abject frustration. Really happy for them.
  9. I love it here. Unreasonable despair and unreasonable joy are both part of baseball fandom. People just need to let each other talk them down when they're desparing, but hey, enjoy the hell out of the wins. I've been to (and have now left) other Brewers fan sites with game threads and it's way more tolerable (and tolerant) here (although I've only been hanging out on game threads here for a couple of weeks now). I also very much appreciate the lack of groupthink that I see on other sites and the absence of complete intolerance for disagreement once a particular user expresses their opinion. That is rife on other sites.
  10. Because that's frequently how baseball works. The Cubs fans were asking themselves how they'd ever beat the Brewers like 48 hours ago. This is how it works.
  11. Cubs played well for the most part, but they got seriously lucky with the Brewers BABIP.. All night long. Ah well.
  12. yeah he's just not an every day guy. When they have to use him that way he gets exposed.
  13. I find it much easier to look at Craig Counsell's face when the Cubs are losing. #FTC
  14. Lot of at 'em balls. This is why the pronouncements of doom are just silly. It's just BABIP biting them in the ass. It happens to every player and every team sooner or later.
