  1. I just don't agree, but that's fine. I'm not an expert, but he didn't shorten his stroke at any point in that second AB. His whole approach should have been to elevate the ball and get it to the OF, and you don't need huge swings to do that, but that's exactly what he did on the pop out. On the k with RISP, the pitch was very good. The ump had been giving the low zone strike call at times. It just makes no sense to watch it and hope for a walk with 2 strikes, men on 2nd and 3rd and 1 out.
  2. We have reached the point of the season where I worry that pitchers who perform well against bad teams will be overestimated and given a spot on the playoff roster.
  3. I can't quite tell if Frelick was actually on one knee when he hit that ball or if it was an inch or two off the ground and then on the ground immediately after making contact.
  4. Ok, so.... am I still not supposed to be worried about Woodruff? That's an early hook for a delayed start.
  5. completely correct. In 2019 I think a lot of people thought they'd start winning for a while. Not just Trout.
  6. True. Also I'm pretty sure he signed it in 2019 when they still had 4 years of control with Ohtani. Hard to argue when it's that kind of $ and you've got help like Ohtani.
  7. And now his numbers are such that it's unlikely anyone would take that contract on in a trade.
  8. Patrick as a replacement for a DL Hall role is probably as close of an approximation as you can get, except for availability on back to back days. It's going to be really interesting seeing how they put that pen together for the playoffs. There are some opportunities to make up for the guys on the IL by creative usage of their rotation depth with Patrick and even Quintana if he's available.
  9. He is. And he's not the only one. Had the same discussion with someone else earlier today on this thread.
  10. You quoted comment is why I ignored that guy. Brewers are winning all night and are up 5 games and he's moaning about the Cubs being good. Don't. Care.
  11. Excellent response to the Angels 2nd run. Vaughn getting his mojo back would be a pretty big development.
