  1. He's done a pretty good job in the portal... and "better than the football team" is a depressingly low standard these days.
  2. No idea! I got a Bachelor of Arts so I was in math class with D1 football players who I only saw in class like twice.
  3. Been watching baseball for 50 years and it still makes me shake my head when I see hard hit liners for outs (Frelick, Yelich) followed immediately be a pop fly drop in.
  4. Thank you for being pedantic. Glad to hear you're more worried about the Brewers than the other parts of that equation, although I'm not sure why it would matter if they lose the series against the Angels if the Cubs aren't winning, which you seem to assume is inevitable. Go Brewers.
  5. The Dodgers are evil. Clearly. They're going to be profoundly "meh" when the Brewers benefit from them winning and then go on a tear when it hurts the most. lol
  6. It's baseball. Sometimes bad teams win games. There are some reasons for concern already (the IL list, the teetering bullpen, the workload on Ashby and Uribe, the drop in bat speed from several players that Matt wrote about), but you can't reasonably demand/assume a sweep against any team. if they drop 2 or get swept then that will likely be because those warning signs noted above continue to be a problem. I know it's worrying season because this is, or is rapidly nearing, the time of year when things to to hell for the Brewers since 2007 or so, but if they go .500 the rest of the season they set a franchise record for wins and the Cubs would have to finish the season on a 14 game win streak to win the division. Let's try to enjoy the last 2 weeks of the regular season! Plenty of time to be miserable when the playoffs get here and they're playing teams with $200-300 million on the payroll every series. :)
  7. Not being critical of the lineup choices on a getaway day, but it's hard not to look at Perkins-Jansen-Ortiz and assume that's probably a 1 for 10 day with a few ks and maybe 2 walks if we're lucky.
  8. Also, if one is worried about the Cubs at all, it's way worse to lose to them in the NLCS than the divisional round. 😅
  9. Sure like how they're taking care of business in Pittsburgh, even with all the injuries.
  10. Sure. But sometimes players say they're good when they're not and sometimes managers and bullpen coaches want to win and they see what they want to see. I'm not sure why this is surprising.
  11. This just in: The Brewers have a 5.5 game lead in September and the best record in baseball. Go Brewers!
