  1. Cubs lose again. Yeah, and I just can't get enough of them losing. Go whoever is playing the Cubs
  2. On a ESPN national broadcast: "...Front-running Milwaukee Brewers..." Man, that sounds sweet even at the end of April
  3. Brian: Baseball Hacks looks good. I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the tip Russ: Yes, I do occasionally get bad results from a web query in Excel and it's very sporadic. I always assumed that it was something to to with the network or the site because I'd just re-run it and it always worked fine. I wish the web sites would allow for more variables in what's included in their stat pages. I have to hit about 6 or 7 pages on ESPN just to get OBP in all of the splits I want to see. I suppose I shouldn't complain. At least they have them. I really like the way ESPN allows you to filter splits by #1-#9 and by position. That can give you a pretty good idea of how well we're doing with the platoon in LF and 3B.
  4. Does anyone have any tricks they'd care to share on where or how they look up their favorite stats? I use Excel with a bunch of web queries that run when I open the spreadsheet. It goes out and grabs specific tables from the HTML pages that I target and loads just that data into the spreadsheet. Other sheets I have in there grab just the stats I'm interested in to consolidate it into one nice sheet. It's easy to makeup your own stats that way too. I like the AB/HR stat to see HR frequency. I do them for team stats and player stats. I'll even copy the consolidated stats into a few files for my iPod so that I can quickly access them anywhere I am. I usually have the player stats for the Brewers and their current opponent and the team stats/rankings.

  6. I was just talking to the wife about the lack of power shown by Johnny so far this year and BOOM
  7. Curse Cappellan for not reporting to Nashville.
  8. Going from TGJ to Weeks drops to 167 with RISP
  9. Tony is 381 with RISP (Edit: make that 429)
  10. Why didn;t Jenks go all the way on that double? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  11. Johnny took a first pitch. Of course, it was way out there. Quiet in the forum tonight.
  12. Wow, great couple of plays on D for Cappy. I hope that gets him in a groove.
  13. Does anybody know how many Cubs Fan hearts we broke tonight? Is there a stat on that? Good one. I know this. They're one game out of the worst record in baseball. Money down the drain. Nobody does it better.
  14. Dude's doing a scorecard in the rain under plastic. Hard core. He does not scream on every fly, I guarantee
  15. I could watch the Cubs and Bears lose every time and never grow tired of it.
  16. They're gonna call this soon. Book it, Dano
  17. Why have Mench and Jenkins turned into Super Stars? I think they're battling to be regular starters. Their pride is pushing them to a higher level.
  18. I'm open to the idea that I notice it more with cub nation because their fans, as a group, are so irritating. I'm with you, brother. I posted it last night and someone else posted the same comment about it at the very same minute, so it's not just you. I wonder if there are more not-really-baseball fans who are Cub Fans. They just like to pretend. They get the tickets because it's the thing to do and they hang out with other non-fans.
  19. Well, that DP is even more important now. Soriano would have hit Izturis in, no problem
  20. Turning outs (x2) into outs (x2)
