  1. I have been a strong proponent of the belief that our hitting is what's (again) going to be our downfall this postseason. However, I just really don't see what offensive upgrades were available at this deadline. Luis Garcia? Lars Nootbarr? Heliot Ramos? Rutschman got shipped but completely wrong position for us. It's a pretty lame list overall. We didn't really have much of a choice but to ride this current offensive group and see what happens. That said, if we falter again similar to last year's NLCS, we will have no choice but to completely overhaul the position groups on this team. Meaning every single prospect on the table for an impact bat, and every current position player available for trade (yes, I mean everyone).
  2. Would be pleasantly surprised if Brice made contact with the ball
  3. Would've bet a lot of money I would never say "where would we be without Jake Bauers?" But here I am.
  4. What does Contreras do well on the field at this point besides get people to clap as he walks to the plate?
  5. At this point, I imagine half the lineup looks forward to Sproat starts so that they can suck in peace.
  6. Contreras might as well just start lighting money on fire in the batters box. His long term free agent contract is dying in front of our eyes.
  7. Contreras has declined so badly in every facet of the game. Terrible game manager at this point on top of his offensive woes.
  8. Proud of Contreras for taking a few pitches before his inevitable strikeout
  9. Correct and par for the course. Just like every person online who says that Andrew Fischer is ready to play in our lineup gets muted by me.
  10. Yeah I get that. He's not going to get $20mil/year on the multi-year market regardless of what he does down the stretch. So it might appeal to him.
  11. Imagine that we might pick up that $20mil mutual option for next season if he pitches really well down the stretch. Would essentially just replace Woodruff on the books from this season.
  12. I've got no problem trading those guys, but it just doesn't seem like the right value. Either tier up and get more control or tier down for lesser depth.
  13. Agreed. Feels like we're a decent starter, a LH reliever (sad Zerpa noises), and a power bat or two from having a serious chance to beat the Dodgers this year. That would take the entire farm system.
  14. Haven't loved the managing from Murphy since he's come back from surgery. Just being honest.
  15. What the hell is Murphy doing to Lara? Just horrible.
  16. Chourio doesn't have an extra base hit since July 9
  17. At least Drohan eats innings even when not pitching great.
  18. Agreed. And somewhat surprising given that Mitchell is "only" above average in center.
  19. We just need at least two power bats, an impact starter, and another bullpen option to beat the Dodgers. No worries.
  20. Think we're all going to need a Pat Murphy explanation at some point on our challenges. We're so bad at it that it's going to cost us in big games.
