I’d guess there’s some concern about being able to absorb innings in the next couple of days against the Phillies without overextending the starters or burning through the top relievers. Churning the 28th man (14th pitcher) spot with guys who can be optioned and not needed for the postseason roster makes some sense. That can lead to calling up Wilson and/or Anderson for the last couple of games versus the Cardinals and not get caught shorthanded.

I would guess Henderson gets a regular start. He last pitched on SEP 16, so he's on full 6 days rest. He threw 95 pitches to get through 5 innings against the Cubs on SEP 9, then 87 pitches to get through 5 innings against the Pirates on SEP 16. With the Phillies' lineup, running into deep counts might limit Henderson's innings due to pitch count. Probably a cap at 5 or 6 innings, but that's determined by number of pitches.

Marsh's double was hard hit (100.1mph exit velocity). The other hits weren't so. Tracking the pitches on the MLB app, they weren't "bad pitches" that led to hits by Bohm and Stott. A couple 86 and 88 exit velocities, both with two strikes. Gordon was nearly out of the inning. Suppose you could have gone to Uribe, but no guarantee the result would've been different. Hope the Padres can take at least one game against the Dodgers this week. Looks like that will be necessary to get the top spot in the NL. (Tampa's loss tonight helps for the overall top record.)

If the 2026–2027 season becomes a disaster early (e.g. being 2-6 after Week 8), are there realistic trade scenarios involving Micah Parsons before the NOV 10 deadline this season? Don't know the full contract details and what the salary cap effects would be incurred by a trade.
