  1. I just got back (2 weeks ago) from my 11th Brewers Fantasy Camp. If it's on your bucket list of Brewers things to do, you have to do it. You won't regret going, but will regret not going. Did anyone go in 2025? Already looking forward to 2026.
  2. Vinny was an awesome addition this year!
  3. There is such a wide range of abilities and they generally do a very good job of splitting up the "talent". I wouldn't be surprised if they go back to a draft format with maybe a morning of evals just to make sure that pitching and big bats get evenly distributed. The returning campers are known, but each year there are some newbies that can play. The bulk of the group are guys (and girls) that played baseball as a kid and maybe into high school. Also a good amount that play some slow pitch softball. Everyone gets their playing time and their at bats. It is truly an amazing time.
  4. Did anyone make it this year? After a two year hiatus due to Covid, it was back and still an amazing time. The weather kept us off the fields early on, but still proved to be an incredible experience.
  5. Well, did you make it out with any injuries? Was it what you wanted it to be?
  6. Normally there is a draft that is conducted behind closed doors after a day of drills and a simulated game. With the increased number of people (essentially 28 more, 2 teams) than normal, they bypassed the draft this go around. With at least 50% being returnees each year, many of the coaches know what people can and cannot do. I believe they were making calls to the first timers to see what their comfort level was at various positions. Pitching is always a big thing, especially in Fantasy Camp. I think one big plus of doing the teams ahead of time is splitting up the known pitchers to even that part out. We get 2 additional games this year by doing it this way, so that is a huge plus.
  7. There is a daily newsletter each morning of Fantasy Camp that gets posted on the Brewers Website as well. Typically they do a quick recap of the prior day's game and talk about some Brewers/Baseball lore of yesteryear.
  8. Got the Camp packet in the mail today. It's getting closer!
  9. Yep! Nice perk of getting two full uniforms this year too. Usually don't get a second pair of pants. Should be a great time as always.
  10. 2020 is the 50th anniversary of the Brewers, so the uniforms will be (very likely) the 1970 uniforms.
  11. The list earlier in the thread is good. That is what I used to pack for my first camp. I suggest throwing in a winter hat and a hoodie for the potentially chilly mornings. Batting gloves haven’t been provided each time, so I’d bring a pair just in case. I now bring a couple of my bats since I tend to like mine vs what is provided. Metal Cleats are allowed and that is what I bring. Spending all day in even the comfiest of cleats can make the feet sore. I typically wear turf shoes to and from the fields just to keep my feet happy. The pro store hasn’t been open the last couple camps, so it’s definitely worth packing some warm clothes with the hopes of not needing them. Swim trunks for the hot and cold tub are a must as well as a can coozie to keep your post game beer cold.
  12. Even if you struggle to get a group of friends to go together, you won't be disappointed with the experience if you go down there solo. I got tired of waiting for friends to commit and just went knowing no one. It's a large group of mostly like minded individuals, so it's easy to make some new friends while down there.
  13. If you want to book your own flight and hotel, you can do so and you get a break on the overall camp rate. Although it isnt to the full amount. There are always bad arms and legs by the end of Day 1 and the trainers rooms has a line out the door like black Friday on the last couple days of camp.
  14. I have done camp in 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018. It is going to be a bigger group in 2020 with the expanded facilities. It is a great time. The quality of baseball can be described as mediocre at best, but the whole experience is an absolute blast.
  15. They were a great addition this year (Corey was there last year too). With those guys, Jason Kendall, Bill Hall, Tim Dillard and Ben Sheets, it made for a fun week.
  16. Anyone headed down to AZ later this week for Fantasy Camp? Nice to see some new (younger) coaches this year with it being primarily made up of guys from the 2008 team.
  17. Anyone headed to AZ for Fantasy Camp 2017?
  18. I played on the same team as Gary D'Amato (JS writer who did the daily chronicle) and luckily kept my name out of the newspaper. It's a great experience!
  19. Well, did you accomplish your 3 goals? The line in the trainers room was getting pretty lengthy. Hope you enjoyed the week.
  20. You will have a blast. There is a very wide arrange of talent. This will be my 4th Fantasy Camp and each one has been special for different reasons. Just stay healthy!
  21. Ben Sheets is one former player that myself and other campers continue to ask for as a coach participant. That would be a great get.
  22. Anyone headed to AZ for Brewers Camp in 2016? Just a few short weeks away!
  23. Any one in 2014? They will be providing everyone with the Gold colored jerseys this time around.
  24. Anyone going in 2013?
  25. A little less than 2 weeks away. Now that winter has officially shown its ugly face, the timing could not be better to show off my inferior baseball prowess.
