Hehe, no kidding, I noticed that too. Let's see how many times their batters call time in the bottom of the 5th, now. Edit: Haha.. Atlanta announcers said Sheets wanted to start the inning after only like 4 warmup throws.
Started out a little rough.. Braves scored 2 runs in the first on two infield singles and a double.. Since then he's been better. Finally starting to get some Ks...... Edit: Oh yeah. He also laid down a great sac bunt that directly resulted in an extra run scored.
Geez. Might be the brightness/contrast of either Turner South or MLB.TV (it's dark sometimes).... but it looks like Armageddon in Atlanta. Extremely dark.
Agreed 100%. A no-decision on 8 innings/1 ER would be a shame. I was glad Ned left him in, but that's gotta be about it for him -- he's up to around 115 pitches, I think.
No doubt finishing ahead of the Cubs isn't a long-term goal or an example of anything all that notable. I would just feel content with doing so this season (especially if it means finishing above .500) as a stepping stone to future success. While a wild card run would be great, there are still six teams ahead of us that are pretty decent.. Just not sure we're quite there yet. If we are, I'll be as pumped as anyone.
