  1. The bye is history, we can kiss it goodbye. Best we can hope for is that we get our crap together again before the WC round.
  2. Brewer Hicklen has been awful in every possible way, hitting, defense and baserunning.
  3. Need to be better offensively in the red zone.
  4. Hmm. You could be right but we can't be absolutely certain that a voodoo hex isn't at work.
  5. Without fail every time someone does this in a Montas GT the following inning he self-destructs.
  6. Well that explains why this signing didn't work out. You'd think he would have learned to stop meddling after Jeff Suppan.
  7. The season of course wasn't lost in the most recent 3 losses, but the odds of achieving a 1st round bye definitely took a significant hit.
  8. Bauers hitting 3rd is indefensible. No matter how much we can all disagree about everything else, I think we can all agree with that. He's not good and he never was. It's not like he's just a good player having a bad year. He's more of a DFA candidate than a 3 hole hitter.
  9. The problem is that his platoon mate is actually worse.
  10. Is anyone really going to be all that surprised if we get swept in the WC round again this year?
  11. The only reason Jake Bauers has a job is because he's less awful than Rhys defensively at 1st and he's left handed. And he's like a son to Pat Murphy for some reason.
  12. The Cubs are totally irrelevant. Being now 2.5 back of Philly is very relevant.
  13. Boy, this lineup just quakes in their boots in clutch ABs.
  14. Just an awful decision going to Hoby. You knew they'd go to the bench, and Hoby wasn't even good before he went on the IL.
  15. I think Tony Gwynn Jr. had more power.
  16. Fraid you're going to get it, because this offense is punchless.
  17. Have to be better in clutch spots. Not much else you can say about it.
  18. Gotta be able to put the ball in play and get that runner home from 3rd with 1 out. Couldn't do it last night in the 10th, couldn't do it here.
  19. This season, Jake Bauers is striking out in 35% of his ABs. In his last 33 AB's, Bauers has 3 hits, and 16 strikeouts. Does Murphy not realize that he's not good?
  20. It honestly wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if we are more than 3 back after the Philly series. Then we could kind of shift gears in our approach. Get guys some rest.
  21. The bye being out there is kind of a double edged sword right now. I don't think we're going to get it, but we're close enough where we kind of have to keep trying. Which is a little problematic because we're worn down and tired and it would be better to focus on just getting healthy and rested this month. I hate the new 6 team playoff. I can't shake the worry that our season will end quickly in October just like the last one.
  22. They had 2 outs because they willingly chose to give one of the 3 outs away, which is known to usually be a bad idea.
  23. Easier to do when you get 3 outs in an inning instead of 2.
