  1. Walking guys early will kill you...at least they were able to crawl back into it late and showed promising signs at the plate. Eventually those runs will score.
  2. Well there's a play that'll make Gameday explode. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Hopefully they can get Duffy in to at least tie it now.
  3. 2-for-12 with RISP tonight. Just one of those maddening games. The good news is that they're still only down by 1 run. Hopefully they can put up another 0 here and find a way to send it into extras.
  4. Well, J.J., you've driven one already tonight...how about finding a gap now? Decent career numbers for Hardy against Weathers, too, IIRC.
  5. Well, crap. Two more innings to get a run, though, and as long as the Brewers keep getting guys on I won't be too dismayed. It'll be interesting to see if Cordero still gets a large amount of boos rained down on him when he enters the game.
  6. That'll put a dent in the ERA. Not too worried yet...I get the feeling this is going to be one of those 11-9 games we have against the Reds every so often.
  7. Another pitching match up that doesn't look so great on paper, but hopefully Bush has his good stuff working at home and the Brewers can rattle Zambrano early with some of that patience they showed in the 9th. Go for the series win today and hope for the best with Soup on the hill tomorrow. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  8. Great to hear the crowd going nuts...hopefully they aren't too obnoxious to nearby Cubs fans. Thanks to Theriot for the short-hopped throw...I don't know what Hill's crying about.
  9. I've been hearing this kind of thing from many Brewers fans thus far this season...with all due respect, why shouldn't we expect the Brewers to channel the homefield intensity of their opener to win? I realize the pundits think the Cubs are better, but I don't get all the doom and gloom. Not singling you out, just mentioning one example. Maybe I'm not expecting them to win each game, but I'm certainly hoping they win these games. It's definitely not doom and gloom for me, I was just referring to the Cubs mostly outplaying the Brewers today. Harden was great, and I don't think anyone expected them to win this one. As I type that, Rickie finally gets one to fall, and it hits the base of the wall. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Nice to hear tons of cheers once that one got past Soriano, too.
  10. Well, hold them for another inning, I guess. I wasn't expecting to win this game, but it'd be nice to steal one in the 9th.
  11. Hart should've been struck out there...thank goodness this ump stinks. Please come through here, Brauny...I have takeout waiting for me that's getting cold because this inning is dragging on. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. Lou takes up 10 minutes with his waddling back and forth to the mound for 2 pitching changes surrounding 1 AB. It's the little things about the Cubs that annoy me, I guess.
  13. Hill's first home run since 2007. He hit that one off Tim Lincecum. Hopefully Harden's not in there for much longer...I'll take my chances against Aaron Heilman.
  14. Shaky strike zone or not, Harden's been wicked today. Hopefully he's not in there much longer, because I can't believe Looper is getting out of some of these innings scoreless.
  15. Wow did Bradley get all of that one...I believe that's his first hit of the year, too. According to WGN, it's also his 400th career RBI.
  16. Doesn't seem like it Stevo, but he sure got a hold of that low fastball. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Hopefully that's a sign of things to come for Corey.
  17. Rickie always gets called out when he does something wrong, but he deserves props for his handling of that scorcher by Fontenot. I <3 double plays.
  18. Nice to see Soriano still has that great plate discipline. Of course, now that I say that, he'll probably golf one out in his next AB. Looper looks good in the Brewers uni, for what it's worth.
  19. Lineups, from JSOnline: Brewers Rickie Weeks 2b Corey Hart rf Ryan Braun lf Prince Fielder 1b J.J. Hardy ss Mike Cameron cf Bill Hall 3b Jason Kendall c Braden Looper p Cubs Alfonso Soriano lf Kosuke Fukudome cf Derrek Lee 1b Milton Bradley rf Aramis Ramirez 3b Mike Fontenot 2b Ryan Theriot ss Koyie Hill c Rich Harden p
  20. I've got a feeling that Braun's going deep today. Unfortunately, I have the same feeling about Soriano. Hopefully Looper can at least keep the Brewers in it until Harden leaves after 5 or 6 innings, and they can jump on the Cubs' bullpen. It'd be nice to get a win or two before Suppan takes the hill again.
  21. Solid contact for Rickie again, but he still doesn't have much to show for it. Even if this series ends up being a loss, there are a lot of things I feel good about going forward. Hopefully some of the things that have gone wrong get ironed out in front of a home crowd.
  22. King of a rough outing for Manny...doesn't even get through the 5th. Hopefully DiFelice can get out of this quickly.
  23. Looks like Manny's still having trouble working very deep into games. It's looking like the Giants are starting to make more solid contact in every AB, and that leadoff walk to Cain is pretty bad. Edit: Costly error by Counsell letting the run score, but it's hard to fault anyone...looks like he slipped as he was throwing across the diamond, and that caused the ball to sail on him a bit. How about a nice DP to end this inning?
  24. Good old-fashioned pitching duel so far. So many close calls early, but at least Manny's looking good tonight. I wasn't able to watch any spring games, so it's going to take me awhile to seeing him wear #26.
  25. With so many aces getting knocked around a bit yesterday, hopefully the Brewers can do the same to Tiny Tim today (or tomorrow, depending on the weather)...even if Lincecum is on every single one of my fantasy teams. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I remember Opening Day in Chicago last year, too, when the weather was really bad. Hopefully they do play, though...it already stinks having to wait an extra day to start the season. I really don't want to have to wait two extra days, especially when I wouldn't be able to catch either game tomorrow.
