  1. To be fair, the stadium is cleaned with the zamboni type machines in the concourses and with leaf blowers in the stands. The cleaning aspect of the seeds is a non issue.
  2. Not clutchiness, and simply because someone is playing professionally doesn't mean they're equipped to handle pressure situations. After some make that initial jump, it can easily be lost. Look at Geoff Jenkins, that guy rarely hit any home runs that mattered. Some guys have it, some don't. Sheets seems to not as of late.
  3. I'm amazed they gave you cups, concession stands treat them like gold. I've asked for a small cup to get some water on numerous occasions and have yet to receive one.
  4. You're missing the point, yes I'd like to think they give max effort all the time on every pitch, but it's not about effort, or trying hard. There's no way to explain it, but there is just something that is a little bit more. I don't care if some here think I'm crazy, some guys just have a little bit more.
  5. Remember guys, it's Wandy Rodriguez. The simple greatest human pitcher of all time.
  6. I love coming to the site, and hopefully contribute in some capacity, but to think sports are are all about critical analysis is just simply nuts. Yes, I posted something about "gut check" time, because it's there, like it or not. It's not something learned on BBTN, it's something learned through years of playing and being around sports. Some of the greatest moments may have had a .005 percent chance of happening, but that's what makes the game. Take the US swimming relay this Olympics against the French. You can't tell me those four guys manned up, had a gut check, or did whatever slang term you can use to describe flat out getting it done, no matter what the circumstances. I love the statistical analysis on this site, but it's not the ONLY thing that exists. Like it or not, sometimes athletes just need to have a little bit more than what the numbers might say.
  7. I love to hate this thing. I watched for 20 minutes on two occasions today and didn't see a thing. I just wait, and wait, and wait...
  8. I'm definitely not turning on Sheet's, but down the stretch now it's gut check time, and if you want to be the elite of the elite, you have to step up. Regardless of what your offense does, you just have to have a little bit more. I hope he gets the confidence back he seems to have lost.
  9. Unfortunately, that last call was the right one.
  10. Wait, was that supposed to be in blue?
  11. Sheets just hasn't been the same since the all-star break. And Rock can shove his one pitch away crap. What a moron.
  12. Exactly what happened, he pulled his bunt back and swung on a make shift slash play. Didn't look pretty.
  13. Weeks in the dugout is too close to the field for me. Free Ray Durham! Oh yea, way to go JJ!
  14. I'm not saying they've been waiting in the weeds, but how in the world is it remotely Ned's fault for Braun re-aggravating his injury? Point is, it's not. With the opinions of the medical staff, Braun himself, coupled with the fact Braun is the best offensvie player, there's no reason he shouldn't have been in the lineup yesterday.
  15. My curiousity from the whole Braun thing, is where was ANY of this on Sunday as he was hitting a game tying home run? Nobody seemed to mind him being back then, now that he may have tweaked something, it's an issue, and Ned is an idiot.
  16. I agree those two clowns should be able to close it out, in fact I have no doubt they could. I'm simply saying, I doubt there is a huge/serious risk of inujury for a pitcher of his physical stature to throw 20 extra pitches, with an extra day of rest coming. I've never said it was the best course of action, I am saying however it's far from the worst case that some on here are pointing. Nobody is a "moron" for the extra two innings last night.
  17. Just to be clear, Ned and all managers for that matter, shouldn't trust their medical staffs, but rather make their own decisions based on what a player looks like to them, AND seeing as this wasn't an issue with Braun until last night, Ned made the right decision on Sunday, and the wrong decision on Monday? I'll never understand I guess...
  18. MJ, thank you.
  19. Nice jab at Ned after avoiding my entire point about having a medical staff. Add that to my vent, "Ned's horrible/an idiot" is not sound argument.
  20. We have had this whole argument before with Yo's injury. Obviously Ned was given the OK from the training/medical staff for Braun to play, or he wouldn't have been out there. The medical professionals are there for a reason, if you are not going to trust what they have to say, what's the point of keeping them around? Funny how none of this was mentioned after Sunday's home run...
  21. There's the first Ned is responsible for Braun's injury, faster than I thought. They have trainers, by the way.
  22. Somehow Braun's injury will be Ned's fault. Depending on length of injury, Ned should draw the appropriately proportioned amount of pages bashing him for being a human being.
  23. I agree, all this is, is a reaction to ONE night where a pitcher threw some extra pitches. He's not going to be hurt by it, it's fine, it's no big deal he went out there.
  24. Larger point is, tonights extra 20 pitches will make no difference in fatigue. This point in the season, and he's well enough stretched out, strong enough, and able enough to go 130 once in a while.
  25. Weird, CC just said on TV he told Ned to let him go back out there, and he'll be rested. Tonight is a non issue, just the board over reacting.
