8/9 of the opening day lineup could be home grown

Seeing recent Yost comments about how Hardy should be ready for opening day and that Gwynn should see most starts in April, got me to thinking. 8 out of the 9 starters on opening day could be homegrown. All but Kendall. I know we saw that a few times last year when Sheets or Gallardo started, but it's pretty amazing to have an opening day lineup that is almost entirely home grown.

Yeah it's pretty neat and a very rare thing in todays game. I'm quite proud of that.

we had 7/9 for last year's opening day.. or 8/9 if you count the fact that counsell was born in Wisconsin.

I saw another interesting fact. Jack Z drafted all of the position starters, except Hall. He drafted Kendall in Pittsburgh.
