  1. The man behind the name.
  2. Congrats on the twins. Have 9 yo b/g twins and one think you need to do is keep them on the same feeding schedule especially early on when its every few hours. Otherwise all you and your wife will be doing is feeding a baby. And get used to random people asking if they are twins and then telling you some random person they know that had twins. Also good advice on strollers from others but also look into the Baby Trend Snap N Go Universal Double Stroller. It doesn't have the seats of a traditional stroller but the car seat carriers fit into it easily. It is less bulky then a traditional double stroller and we definitely used it more than the double stroller we had. And it fits into a car, I don't think the regular double stroller fit into my wife Honda Civic.
  3. My then 4 year old loved Carlos Gomez. (As a side note - a year before he thought he would find Gomez in each of the winter Olympic events.) Imagine telling him Gomez was traded putting him to bed, then saying never mind, it didn't happen in the morning, only to tell him the next night it did indeed happen. Poor kid was so confused. Ironic part is now Josh Hader is his favorite Brewer.
  4. And to add to that, the Brewers grind was mid season with a roster of 25. Most of the Cubs grind was with expanded rosters.
  5. Wife and I will be up in section 538 cheering as loud as we can!!!!
  6. https://portlandtribune.com/pt/12-sports/385703-274945-penalties-paid-heimlich-ready-to-return-for-beavers-baseball Thought this was an interesting read on Heinrich. Not sure what to believe. Sad if he truly didn’t do it though.
  7. I have hats from about all the stadiums I've been too. Probably about a dozen or so non-Brewer hats compared to over 25 Brewer hats. I refuse to have a Cubs hat and didn't by a Reds hat when I was in Cincy. Seems like a waste of money since most are barely worn but will likely by an Angels hat when there next month.
  8. I think the fact that Alvarez is the interim head coach (figurehead or otherwise) again shows that he still wants some involvement with the football team and can see that being part of the reason for Bielema and now Anderson leaving. How many times has someone that wasn't on the coaching staff all season been named interim head coach when someone leaves before the bowl game? I would wager that the answer is 2.
  9. watchespn is included free with apple tv
  10. If they win this one, I am putting my life savings on them winning the World Series and retiring early. Seems like a team of destiny.
  11. Right where we want them, ready for our 3 run comeback in the 7th.
  12. re: New York - is this still the case? I recall it being such years ago but it would seem like in this day and age with technology and such it could be done sooner rather than later. Plus doesn't that give an advantage to the Yankees and Mets if the hearing is heard day one and upheld so they serve the suspension against the NY teams.
  13. The Rattlers game notes indicate the Fernandez and Eshleman were DL'd to get down to 25.
  14. I will 3rd Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Another good one is The Goldbergs. Those 2 plus a couple that have been around a few years - Modern Family and Big Bang are my must watch shows each week.
  15. Also will be MSNBC, CNBC, NBC Sportsnetwork and USA. Schedule can be found at NBCOlympics.com
  16. Does everyone who is still/will forever hold a grudge like this in their personal lives too? If so, I feel bad for both you and the people closest to you. Must not be a happy place to live.
  17. And then you will claim he's been using since t-ball and want another apology to reveal the truth. The only way I believe this guy is if he comes to my door, cooks me dinner and apologizes to my face that he's been using since he was in diapers. And even then I will have my doubts (unless the meal is really good).
  18. During the week next weeks things shouldnt be too crowded. CPS starts back on Monday and most of the suburbs seem to be starting this week or early next. I agree with some of the others that Navy Pier is WAY WAY WAY over-rated. I go to a client that has their office there a few times for work a year and it amazes me the number of people there to see cheesy souvenir stores and overpriced attractions. The boat rides/architecture boat are really nice. Otherwise the parks and shopping are good/cheap ways to spend some time.
  19. General question to all the doubters out there - So until Braun apologies to everything you speculate that he may have been doing, he is still lying in your eyes. Just want to make sure I understand your position correctly. Thanks.
  20. We too have 2 nice cameras and a video camera but most of the pics are on our iPhones since they are usually nearby. And the iPhone pics are easier to share with family and friends. The camera pics tend to stay on the camera for too long. Plus, our 2 year old twins love to look at the pics on the iPhone and were scrolling through the pics on that since they were about a year old or maybe even before. As soon as our son sees one of us with our phone now he starts with 'pictures, pictures' like he will die if he doesn't get to see them soon. And they love that they can see themselves with the front camera on the phone. If we try to take any pictures they now tell us they want to see. Makes picture time fun
  21. Congratulations. I agree it isn't always easy but it is definitely rewarding. Our twins will be 2 next month and it is hard to believe that only 2 years ago they were 4 lb babies that only wanted to sleep and eat. And now they are walking all around the house pointing out everything and telling us what it is or asking 'what's this?' One thing we found that we really liked are pacifiers that are attached to small stuffed animals. Our son had a frog and our daughter a duck but I think there are a few other options too. The weight of the stuffed animal keep the pacifier close by by staying on their chests as they slept on their backs. And it didn't fall far when it fell off so once they kids were able to find them on their own it cut down the crying in the middle of the night. And I second comments on giving your wife as much rest as possible early on and not being afraid to ask for help from others.
  22. Wouldn't it be 3 active guys since Gamel is also on the 60 day DL?
  23. There was an update from McCalvy on Sunday on brewers.com -- Mat Gamel is not the only injured Brewer making significant progress this week. Left-hander Chris Narveson, sidelined since April with a season-ending shoulder injury, has begun a throwing program and is hoping to resume mound work before the Brewers break for the winter. Narveson played catch on Sunday for the fourth time since his May 1 surgery for a torn rotator cuff. "We're just playing catch right now, just like we're getting ready for a season," Narveson said. "Hopefully, by the end of the season we're just starting to get off a mound."
  24. The batter is awarded first base correct? I am thinking since the ball hit the runner going to 2nd the runners on 2nd and 3rd are no longer forced to advance and must remain. If the ball hit the runner going the 3rd the previous runner on first has to go to second since the batter is now on first but the runner on 3rd would still have to remain at 3rd.
  25. I third the Freedom Trail. Also a tour of Fenway is a must. I went the morning of a game but I am pretty sure they do them on off days too. And they use to go inside the scoreboard (mine didn't since it was to close to warm-ups). It's just a great city to walk around in, so much history there.
