Lets avoid the sweep boys!

I get the feeling we'll see Craig at 3B and maybe Mike Rivera behind the plate today.

Yeah I would think 100% that Rivera gets the start today and I would also say its a good bet Counsell gives Billy a "mental day off" at 3B. Come on guys, lets avoid that sweep and salvage one game!

I don't care what the lineup is, just as long as Gross isn't hitting 2nd again. The combination of him & Weeks at the top of the order (and their combined .170 average with a on OBP not much better) is killing them.

Another thing I'm curious to see is how the bats perform vs the otherwise very pedestrian Kyle Lohse. They've faced two similar-type pitchers this year in Fogg & Figueroa, and failed miserably. Getting shut down by Zambrano or Harang is excusable, but letting these journeymen stiffs beat you is embarassing. Another poor offensive performance and it might be time for Melvin to start shopping around for a left-handed bat.

very pleased with that lineup. not to get into much here, but this is the kind of getaway day game that would have led Ned to start 4 or more back ups in the past.

here's hoping that Billy has a day to get his head straight and JJ gets a chance to groove some fastballs and find his stroke again. I love having the day off and scheduling everything around daygame baseball!!!

Everything I've ever known, I've learned from Brewerfan.net....Seriously though

I like the chances today, not just because of the lineup though.

I've observed over time that teams that score late in games the night before, even if they come up short, will often follow that up with a good offensive effort the next day. Conversely, barely hanging on to win like the Cardinals did last night is often a precursor to a cold spell.

JohnBriggs12, I'd like to think you're right. It seemed like the Brewers hitters were just starting to hit the ball, so hopefully it will carry over to today.

Last night I posted that Yost's least redeeming / most damning quality is his donkey-like stubbornness.

I am going to delay any comment retracting this platform of mine until Corey is batting in front of Billy.

Yes, great that #1 is 5-holing, but I need to see him there when Mr. 50% of my consonants are Ls is in there too.

I wish my boss would give me a day off to relax.

Carefull, Ned might take offense and put Bill in the cleanup spot. He wouldn't actually do that, would he? Oh wait...

Remember, though, that our forfeit lineups were pure gold last year.

I like the lineup today. Billy and Kendall needed a day off. Rivera hit well in his only other start and Counsell came through with a big hit last night. Also this gets Hardy in to the #2 hole and Corey #5. Lets see what they can do.

Hardy should not be hitting second. Hardy's career OBP is .320. Thats is what is known as bad. The "awful" Gabe Gross is at .338 and .361 vs RHP.
