Exactly. Hardy does not belong anywhere near the second spot. Not like he's hitting much better than Gross right now anyway.

Hardy should not be hitting second. Hardy's career OBP is .320. Thats is what is known as bad. The "awful" Gabe Gross is at .338 and .361 vs RHP.

Ok.. but that includes his "red-shirt' year.. what is OBP hitting in the 2nd spot since the beginning of last year versus Gross, I think you would see a radically different comparison.

Hardy hitting in front of the pitcher is putting up better numbers than Gross in front of Prince/Braun. I think Hardy will do better than Gross in the 2 hole. The only better option in today's lineup may be Counsell.

That's a pretty weird and insignificant split, but Hardy OBPd .322 out of the second spot last season.

end--is there actually any brewers that you do like? it seems that any postitve vibe or good feelings that a lot of BF posters have about lineup changes only make your posts seem more negative.

i generally agree with lots of the stuff that you post, but the negativity this early in the year seems a little unneccessary

Everything I've ever known, I've learned from Brewerfan.net....Seriously though

Dana DeMuth's strikezone is already irritating. The Brewers will need to exercise extreme patience if everything is going to be a ball. Also, Brian Barton's resemblance to Snoop Dogg is remarkable.

Manny's been a little wild true, DeMuth seems to be squeezing a bit as well, but at least most of his balls have been low. I'd rather see that than CV having such a hard time keeping the ball down last night

I've observed over time that teams that score late in games the night before, even if they come up short, will often follow that up with a good offensive effort the next day.

Yeh, about 50% of the time.

nice turn for an easy double play.

I kind of like the camera angle when watching Parra pitch - it really shows the tailing action on his fastball well compared to the traditional left-centerish camera angle

I've drank too much coffee this morning I think, I literally pumped my fist here at my desk after that double play.

Thursday mornings with the Crew--terrible for productivity.

There is no reason to be happy about Hardy hitting second though. And this is on the heels of people calling for him to do so, despite him being better hitting 8th last year

#8 .314/.330/.581

#2 .274/.322/.449

For one day it doesn't matter, but its not something to be excited about.
