Shawn Chacon Suspended Indefinitely for attacking his GM

[RightFieldCoder]

I say, since they are in the central, both should be given 10 year contract extentions. :D

I say 2 out of three falls, pay-per-view. Cage and ladder match. Loser leaves town.

The Astros have put Chacon on waivers in order to give him his unconditional release. His contract will be terminated without pay if he's not claimed by Monday: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3462337

That was one quick indefinite suspension, huh?

Maybe the Brewers should pick him up for Nashville too. He can't be worse than Jeff Weaver I suppose, and I don't see Doug Melvin as the type to go on swearing a blue streak. That'd be more Yost's line, so some people might get a gleeful moment if Ned and Shawn ended up going at it sometime later in the season. Edited June 26, 2008 by istanbultaye

I can't believe the Player's Union is going to argue that the Astros didn't have the right to terminate his contract.

Chacon and Wade's stories are pretty exact opposite on who was yelling, so I'd have to guess it was both of them doing the yelling. All the same, Chacon's comments about only regretting that they didn't leave him alone, doesn't earn him any further respect. He doesn't regret that he choked his GM, only that the GM didn't leave him alone. Classy.

Chokum was released. I wonder how him and Sprewell will survive now?
