Is Marmol injured or are they just saving him? If they're saving him and then pitch him against the Brewers that's bush league.

you're joking right? the clubs have played very hard against the mets and have a chance to take 3 out of 4 in a series that means nothing against them. marmol has logged a ton of innings, and the cubs have earned the right to rest him. hopefully they can put a run on the board right here and shut them down in the bottom of the ninth

Marmol's thrown like a million innings this year, so it makes sense that they wanted to rest him this series. Piniella has already said that he's not going to rest his players quite as much against the Brewers because he wants to make sure they'll still sharp heading into the NLDS.

Marmol hasn't pitched in the last couple close games, that's annoying. And how come the Cubs have no problem with perfect relays/tags when they played the Brewers last week? He was dead meat at the plate and he flat out misses him. Lead off hit for Fontenot...let's hope the Cubs have one more left in them.

Because it was Geovany Soto behind the plate, and not Koyie Hill, who's a career minor leaguer.

It's frustrating to see the Cubs blow this lead, sure, but if the Brewers had taken care of business earlier in September we wouldn't even have to worry about it.

They reserve the right to do so ethically, as long as they don't employ a double standard against another team in playoff chase, like the Brewers.

Intentionally walking Fukudome is probably the best thing that could happen for us.

Provided Koyie Hill doesn't hit into a DP someone decent has to bat, unless Lou goes nuts and pinch hits Jason Marquis or something.

Daryle, do something against someone other than us, please. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Top of the order due up for the Mets. I don't think we're getting the wildcard lead tonight, which kinda stinks. It would've been nice to head into the Cubs series with a one game lead...that would've given the Brewers the cushion to go 1-2 in the Cubs series and still realistically force Game 163 if the Mets won 2 of 3 against Florida.

I guess the good news is that Florida's regulars are better than the Cubs' AAA team, and the Cubs' AAA team managed to split this series (assuming the Mets end up winning this game).

The Mets should be thanking their lucky stars if they win this game...in any other situation, at any other time of the year, this game is called way before this. That rain is much more than you'd see teams play in, especially for 1-2 hours now. Let's hope the Mets revert to last nights form!
