C.C. Sabathia is Baseball's Kevin Garnett

I'll say the comparison is valid if the Brewers win a title with him.

Garnett's problem was always falling in the playoffs (as has been CC's).

Plus, the Milwaukee Brewers as a franchise are hardly the Boston Celtics.

I don't really follow basketball but 1 player can have a much larger effect on his team's win% than 1 baseball player, right? An elite starting pitcher playing over his head (1.75 ERA) for an entire season is worth about 10 wins over an average one. That's the difference between an average team and a marginal playoff team but that would be the ceiling for an effect. A superstar basketball player can turn a below average team into a solid playoff team, correct?

Take away MJ and what did the Bulls do? Nada.

But more often, it takes two stars (Pierce and KG). Pierce with an average team couldn't do it. KG with an average team couldn't do it. (See also Kobe and Shaq or Tim Duncan and Tony Parker). With only one, it seems that defenses focus on the one heavily and force the rest of the team to beat them.

If we had a healthy Sheets, stretched 100% Gallardo and CC, I'd really like our odds.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."
