5/2/06 Non-Brewer game thread.

Pirates up on the Cubs 2-0 after the top half of inning #1.

 

Indians cruising vs. Whitesox 7-1.

 

Reds and Cards knotted upa t 2 in the 8th.

No Pujols, Edmonds, or Rolen in the starting lineup today for the cards. Even with those guys their lineup is starting to look a little weak and without them it is down right terrible.

Burnitz just homers for Pittsburgh! 4-0 Pirates. Also, Kearns on 1st, no outs in the bottom of the 9th for the Reds in a 2-2 game.

Cardinals lose! Javier Valentin hits a walkoff single for the Reds, scoring Kearns, win 3-2. I know the Reds are now 19-8, but I'd rather the Cardinals get as many losses as possibly early on because the Reds will cool off.

The cubs are the least patient team in the majors right now. Duke 48 pitches through 4 innings. Unless they learn not to hack at everything the cubs are going down.

And in both cases it was the pitchers first career CG shut out.
