  1. "We'll see you tomorrow night." Wasn't that Joe's father that made that call 20 years ago? I don't care much at all for Buck/McCarver, but what an honor it must have been for Buck the younger to call the end of the game like that.
  2. Kotsay could not possibly be a bigger goat right now. Sorry Yo. Screw you Ron.
  3. My favorite fan moment of the gamecame in the 7th with Saito pitching. We go a crowd shot of behind the Brewers dugout, and one single fan was standing and cheering, then looked around and noticed he was the only one, and sheepishly sat down. That fan was Mark A. I love having an owner that passionate about the Brewers.

  5. Dear Yuni, I'm sorry I cursed your family name, kidnapped your dog, slashed your tires, and peed in your breakfast cereal. In retrospect it was all a bit much. Sincerely, Anonymous Brewers fan
  6. I don't care if it's 72 and sunny...keep it closed. Loudness is more important than fan comfort for the playoffs.
  7. I was born post-1982, and the Crew's 2008 showing was pretty much drama-free, so this has been my first experience with the craziness of the baseball postseason, and I gotta say I was not ready for the amount of drama and anxiety involved. So far in my young life, the most tense I've ever been watching my teams were the 2000 Rose Bowl vs. Stanford and the Elite 8 game vs. Purdue a few months afterwards that sent Wisconsin to the Final Four. I am absolutely convinced that tomorrow will exceed that. In fact, having sweated through various March Madness, NFL and NBA Playoffs, and College football games before now, I am just realizing that those scenarios were all walks in the park compared to what's at stake for an MLB elimination game. I was at MP on Saturday for game 1 and the crowd was terrific: loud and happy. No doubt they will be loud tomorrow, but I'm sure it will be with a more nervous energy than before. Hopefully the team has a more stable mindset than I do.
  8. Feels like Yankees-Tigers. Good guys let a crappy pitcher off the hook in the first and pay for it dearly.
  9. Good question...if it's any more than a few thousand you can bet the Brewer presence will be felt...I guess another way to ask would be: will there be more, less, or the same amount of Brewers fans as there were in July?
  10. +1 So basically, the only way to get a parking pass if you don't have one already is to go to Miller Park, which you can only access with a parking pass? Seems absurd. (And no, as someone in Madison, I'm not going to get them in advance)
  11. Yeah, things were much better in 2007, but I remember Arizona still had trouble selling out any playoff games, and Cubs and Rockies fans were numerous at Chase Field.
  12. I really really liked it. Pitt and Hill are great, but I was also surprised by how much I enjoyed a quite subdued PSH as Art Howe. One quibble: this movie will only further the misconception that "Moneyball" means finding fat, ugly, players who walk a lot as opposed to finding players whose skill sets are undervalued in general. Oh well.
  13. Group of 4 driving down from Madison for the Wednesday matinee. To get to the north side (we're parking at Howard and taking the Red Line to the stadium), would the brewerfan masses suggest taking the I-90 through Rockford or I-94 around Milwaukee?
  14. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_cUE7WDxzjNI/THrEP6YpuzI/AAAAAAAAACY/pUCNBv0h6cI/S1600-R/georgia+map
  15. After the Morrison fiasco, it's at the point with the Marlins where if they accuse a player of "Detrimental conduct," I automatically assume that player is in the right.
  16. Yeah, exactly. Z, Bradley, Youkilis, Carp...fine, but Utley, Plush, and Pujols don't really make any sense.
