Where to get a good deal on a shotgun? (for hunting)

I've thought about a 30-30. I'm leaning towards a .270, but definitely looking into the 30.06 or 30-30 yet. Any ideas for good places to start looking for deals?

Go to Gander Mountain or Scheels to start out looking. Talk to the sales guy and let him know what your looking for. Normally those two places have people working there that are sportsman and have used the equipment.

You can also probably buy a new 30-30 for about the same as what you would pay for a used 270...

Hey all,

I'm bringing back an old thread to ask something different, but related. Do any of you know of some public hunting land in the Winnebago/Green Lake/Waushara County areas that has been producing deer this season? My father and I have hunted 3 places that total over 900 acres this season and have not gotten close enough to take a shot yet. Or, if you have some private land that isn't being used in this area I would even be willing to dish out a coupla bucks for access...my father is 65 and this is probably his last year of hunting due to health issues. I'm hoping to help him make it memorable. I'm not looking to blow up your spot so PM me if you have any ideas...
