Looking for some baseball coaching opportunites.

Unemployed right now and not expecting that to change any time soon so I'm thinking of trying to find like a fall baseball league or some other sort of coaching gig that would last only for the fall/early winter. I've been an assistant high school varsity coach for three years now plus coaching summer league baseball so I've got experience. I would prefer paying gig but that's not a requirement.

 

Does anyone know of anything like this? It doesn't have to be Wisconsin, in fact, I'd actually prefer it be somewhere nice and warm. I've done some Googling and can't really find anything but I assume someone here has some sort of connections that might know of something. Thanks!

i'm job-hunting in the Parks & Recreation field right now and i see baseball-coaching openings on city sites every once in a while. just google the city's webpage to get to job and volunteer openings.

 

any area YMCA would be a great place to look, too.

I know this might not help you too much, but have you thought about umpiring? It doesn't pay a TON of money, but i do it in elkhorn as a side, usually make between $25-40 dollars a game(for 1.5 hours, not too bad). It would keep you involved in baseball, and also give you a little cash here and there.

I've umped before and I hate it. I really like coaching. I enjoy working with kids and seeing them improve.

Umpires for the Wisconsin State Youth Baseball League make $45/game, or $60 if they work alone.
