Soccer - USMNT Hires Klinsmann!!!

It should have been a red card, no doubt in my mind. It would have been one thing if he would have attempted to play the ball, but he grabbed his shirt on what probably been a breakaway.

 

I thought the first half by the USMNT was ugly, but the last 30 or so minutes was great to watch. Landon Donovan getting to play up front was great, and when they have Dempsey, Edu, Holden and some of the other guys added to this roster, and they figure out Klinsmann's style, this is going to be a very fun team to watch.

Dempsey, Donovan, Edu, Holden, Bradley, Buddle, Altidore, Shea, Agudelo... the latter two really being the spark in the game against Mexico off the bench... is kind of exciting.

 

What's the next major competition for the USMNT?

Yeah, but those are just friendlies. Are there any major competitions in the next two years other than World Cup qualifying? No Confederations Cup, I know.

 

Just feels like I'm forgetting about a competition here.

2013 Gold Cup is in the next 2 years. Other than that and qualifying, I'm not sure what else they would have.

FYI to everyone with U-verse. They finally added Fox Soccer Channel in HD. It's 1654. Turn on the Premier League this morning, Clint Dempsey plays for Fulham.

I think ESPN is carrying ManU-Spurs tomorrow, which should be a fun one.

 

Barca-Real was a blast last week. I think they should still play 3-4 more times this year. La Liga still hasn't started league play though as far as I know, there's some labor dispute going on.
