Well Roenicke learned. He should have ordered the walk to get Kershaw out of the game on Thursday as well. Actually that was even a clearer case than this one since the extra run if it goes wrong was not as important on Thurs. and Kershaw was looking at lot better.

Seriously, the pitching gets complacent late in ball games. They should know better.

You mean pitchers get tired late in games and miss their spots? How dare they be human!

So what about the hitters getting complacent? They should know better too! That way if they drove in more runs, the pitchers could be more complacent! GEEZ!!!

Great move by Roenicke of luring the Mets into pinch hitting for their starter the bottom half of last inning. We're having much more comfortable AB's against non-knuckleballers. Also great AB by Morgan to begin the inning. He took 2 pitches after it ran to 3-0 and just fought pitches off until their reliever gave in. He looked like a lead off hitter.

Seems like winning 21 out of 24 excuses everything, which it absolutely shouldn't. They have been doing this kind of thing all year long.

Yup, because teams that finish with records around 142-20 are all too commonplace.

Somebody should have informed the Mets that McGehee can't hit lefties even though he's a right-handed batter. He's been vastly superior against right-handers this year. Terrible move by their manager.

Yes we score on a error.

Not to be too nitpicky but we would have scored anyways. There were zero outs. Plus, I doubt that would have been a double play regardless.

I've got to wonder if Roenicke just needs some more time to "master" the National League game. It's his first managing post and he had spent much time in the American League. Forcing the opponent's hand by getting to the pitcher's spot in the order is probably not thought of right away in his mind, but perhaps he is learning. Now if Roenicke can just get the idea of defensive substitutions through the double switch down........

Geddy, if you are going to make statements like this, you need to provide some numbers to back it up. You're not contributing anything useful to the discussion. It's not even worth our time to list the ways that your statements today are horribly wrong.
